Good bye OEM Dumbo mirrors! :rocks:

If I'm close enough to something that I would need to fold my mirrors, I got problems... no one gets that close to my baby!

Hahaha, on a serious note, good find man, hope they turn out well, I had no idea they existed!

Those the ones in the ebay link from the hangout?

Nope.
I joined a German DSM forum and posted up a WTB. I did a straight up trade with one of the members there. I paid to ship my mirrors to him and visa versa.

You should wrap them in carbon and clear it. It would look cool.

Maybe one day, for now I'll just paint match them.

Same here but I think the OEM mirrors just look so weird!

When I found out about them I had to have them though, I thought they were power folding like a lot of mirrors on Japan spec cars. Maybe one day I'll buy a set of power folding mirrors and see if I can swap in the motors.

Sick dude! I've been trying to find folding mirrors for my gsx ever since i got it!

I totally agree, hahaha.

Funny how certain things are so different on basically the same car in different markets.. Guess I'm just the average USDM customer who likes his non-folding power mirrors...

Glad you're happy with them though.

*Drool* Automatic folding mirrors + automatic butterfly doors would be sick. Way overboard (if such a thing is possible) but sick. good find!!

Are they auto/power folding?

Nice trade!

You speak/read German?

In Germany it is mandatory to have folding mirrors. Parking spaces, roads, etc are much tighter so it's needed.

They are manual folding, not power folding. There's no such thing as power folding mirrors for a DSM (to the best of my knowledge).

They are manual folding. I'd like to get a set of JDM power folding mirrors from another Mitsu and see if I can swap the motors into the Eclipse mirrors some how. To my knowledge power folding mirrors for the Eclipse don't exist.

I do not read/speak Germany but many people on the site I joined spoke English so I just posted that way. Don't use the online translators, they don't work that great LOL However I would like to learn German just because...

That is cool, and Im all for the swap...

But you cant call ours "dumbo" when the ones you just got are bigger! LOL

I know this is three days old, but why is it that USDM, cars, motors and exteriors are always of such different quality and style to JDM and the such? Looking at even the Evo's of yore(93-98), one sees an incredible difference to their cousin's in law(DSM's). How is it that MHI thinks that 100% of americans cannot appreciate the beauty of a lag-ridden barely daily-drivable turbocharged car such as the fq-400...I guess I'm just a newbie fool...
