whats a good radiator?

Hey guys im looking to buy a new radiator for my 2g eclipse gs 5spd with no mods, all stock, i was wondering which is the best one to go with and why

Go with cheap! But if you like the look of a nice shiny chunk of aluminum, I'm sure eBay can still do cheap AND shiny.

I say go cheap because if the car isn't modded, or has any special requirements, then the OEM radiator will work just fine. No need for bling and 3" thick cores.

I got a new Mushimoto radiator about a month ago. Still haven't used it since I'm going through rebuilding and upgrades, but I've only heard good things about them.

I figured I'd jump in on this.
The radiator on my 2g is leaking and I need a new one.
But I want a aluminum radiator, has any one tried to use one designed for the neon?
I am looking at this one here.
Kinda lame you can't get a nice all aluminum radiator for the 420A.

I found this one here but it says it fits all 2nd generation Eclipse.
So it may only be for turbo cars.
I'm waiting on a response from the seller to find out.

Go to your local parts store (Napa Autozone, etc...) and price out a stock replacement. There's nothing wrong or bad with running a stock radiator on a stock car.

I agree, I bought a RadiatorBarn.com radiator years ago and it's still running strong. The original radiator had plastic end tanks that cracked, but the RadiatorBarn.com radiator has metal end tanks.

The Stock /oem autozone ones will work good. As mentioned go cheap if your stock, I'm using one of their Radiators on a 98 N/T and I'm spraying a wet shot of nitrous as well, I have no problems what so ever. Water temp stays pretty cool.

Radiatorbarn is good for the price. Fluidyne is really good but expensive and mishumoto only makes them for 4g63 not the 420a. If you go aftermarket make sure the hoses will line up properly.

Never had a problem with the stock unit. Find similiar at the best price and go for that.

all ive seen from mushimoto is for turbos only? unless anyone has seen for non turbo?

my radiator is also on its way out.(CLOGGED)I cant find an aluminun radiator anywhere.Any ideas for us boosted guys that would like to squeeze in an aluminum one?

I plan on going Turbo in the spring with a full rebuild in the near future. My question is to run high boost will a stock radiator hold up? If not who makes a good one for the 420a that's good for Turbo?

just do the honda 1/2 Radiator mod... Mark Bullett Runs with it so you know it does its job.

I got my radiator from www.1800radiator.com/. They offer lifetime warranty. My radiator started leaking after 8 years, and they got me a brand new one sent in OVERNIGHT. My original one had metal end tanks, and the replacement had plastic...but they still honor lifetime warranty and plastic is lighter...so I can't complain. Great service also.

There really is no reason to upgrade from stock. I fought overheating issues for years with all the extra heat under the hood from the turbo. Once I got 2 nice fans in there that actually pulled a decent CFM I have had no issues ever since. Even in the middle of summer down here in the south.
