Whats a good Engine to put in a 97 GS?

That doesn't take a crazy amount of money to just install it. Anything better than the stock engine?
 
Better than stock??? :confused: theres something out there thats better than the 420a? LOL jk

But seriously, i dont think there is a simple swap. alot of ricers(not saying your one) seem to believe that to swap an engine, you just undo a couple bolts, yank it out, drop the new one in, and rebolt it. it would be much easier and probably cheaper if you just mod the 420a, come on its not that bad!

Anyways I have to buy a new/rebuilt engine for my car and I was thinking about taking it to 250hp by the time its finished performance wise I think thats a nice little goal not to big but yet fun and challenging for a newbie.

I just want to make faster than my friends Acura RSX Type S...his car looks real nice, body kit rims cf hood....its a looker.
 
You wanna send the 420a to 250hp or the motor you swap in? if its for the 420a, thats a nice little goal, very achievable
 
Im gonna buy a rebuilt 420a and take that engine to 250hp. Yes I feel its a nice goal Im only 20 and Ill be attending college in the fall so I don't have the time to work and get all the money I want to make it faster than that or else I would have just bought a GSX...after I graduate and get a steady job then I will make a mean machine but for now I would be content with 250hp on a nice looking eclipse.

Its like they don't get maybe we like paying HALF the insurance they are paying and with all the money saved we can buy cool shiz for are cars.
 
plus, why spend $2k more for a turbo model, where you get a 60,000 mile + engine, with a 60,000 mile + turbo. or you could spend $2k less on a N/T model, and use that $2k to buy a turbo with 0 miles on it!
 
ooo Plus its funny to have the GS tag on are car and blow away a GST or a GSX and be paying less insurance!
 
haha i took that sticker off my car, just cause i cant blow away a gsx or gs-t as of now. and so others didnt know i was a n/t. but n/t's are predominate in my area. ive only seen one turbo model in the area, well besides my friends brother. but i cant wait, in a couple years of saving and tuning, im gonna be laughing at those 4G63 guys who told me it could never be fast BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA :laugh:

yeah front wheel drive and 8 psi max on stock internals and fuel system. that sounds like your gonna run away from a gs-t/gsx.... :rolleyes:

Eat a dick. You made a mistake and bought a car with a neon engine. Realize the mistake, sell it to some chick and get a gst or gsx.
 
their both nice cars..i have both and this "neon engine" is capable of a lot...and it can handle 10psi on stock internals, which is actually pretty strong, most hondas and acuras i see that are NT converted to turbo can only handle 6-8.
 
Ok well im done cause these always just turn in to flame wars about whos better, anyways back on topic, stay with the 420a in my opinion :thumb:
