I have to buy a new radiator, mine is seeping from the top half around the edges. I dont have a lot of money to go throwing around so where should I buy one from. I saw ebay has them for about 80 shipped.

RadiatorBarn.com has cheap, but extraordinarily good radiators. Unlike OEM, they're all metal, so there's no plastic to get brittle and crack.

I believe 1-800-Radiator also stocks all metal radiators for a little more. I had three choices for my car when I called.

So I dont know why, but the new radiator I bought sits higher than the old one. The hood closes but has to be forced down to push the radiator down.. Should I send it back or is it possible to pull the brackets down to make it fit.. What do you guys think?

It is a stock replacement and it is seated in the mounts properly. I am going to check today to see if the bottom mounts happen to be bent because the hood clearing it is only like half an inch. It rubs on the bubble part where the upper radiator hose hooks up.

+100%

I ordered mine and installed it 2+ years ago for my GST and have had absolutely no issues.

As stated, it's all metal. My OEM broke at the top hose connection.
Cheap, fast shipping=can't be beat.
Radiators, automotive radiators, condenser, oem radiators, truck radiators

I agree 100%. I have ordered radiators for both the eclipse and my wifes altima from radiator barn. Great prices and super fast shipping also. I will say paul your right about the eclipse radiator bieng all metal, but on the altima they sent an identical replacement. aluminum core with plastic end tanks. great quality though.

I got mine off ebay, it was actually a good one too, and it came with a lifetime warranty. = )

So if the only issue with my original radiator is that the plastic on the top tank hose outlet has gone brittle and leaking.......hose blew off last night when the plastic gave way.......is it possible to have the tanks replaced ? Or is it just a replace the entire radiator solution ?

Same answer as the PM. The molecular strength of the plastic is failing, and your bottom tank is probably in the same condition. I don't know if radiator shops have access to replacement parts, nor if they could do the job for less than a nice, new replacement radiator. It's ~ $160, and an hour to swap if you're missing a hand.
You should also replace the thermostat and radiator hoses while you're at it.

Its cheaper to buy a new radiator, dont waste your time trying to repair a 10 year old radiator when you can just get a new one for 70 bucks. I have no tools anymore and was able to change mine out in about an hour.. The reason it took me so long is because my fans and the tranny cooler in and out hoses needed cleaned. Anyway, buy a new one.. if you cant afford a nice aluminum one for 160 or so, buy a cheap OEM replacement for 70 shipped.
BTW Defiant - I figured out why the radiator sat higher, the lower passenger side radiator mount was bent causing the radiator to sit higher.

I did buy a replacement.......should be here Wednesday.

Removing all the AutoTrans fluid connections was a bit of a hassle......

Hope the engine survived this event.

Thanks to all for the advice, :D
