ok I have a 99 eclipse and with a 420a and i plan on doing alot of work to this car was wondering where i could find alot of parts from one place maybe this way i can get a better deal.

Main plan is to run a ams gt850r turbo with forged internals and everything like that

Already talked with:
Slowboy Racing
Ci Motorsports
Which it seems like they don't want my money or something idk

Have you looked through the other vendors listed on this site?

Your best bet, if you want alot of parts from one person, is to go to your local performance shop(with a dyno preferably) and see if you can't get them to work with you.

EDIT: IMO if you want that much power a fwd is not the platform to do it with, unless your just trying to break a 420a
record.

Well, with a 420a you have to do a lot of work or just buy a whole new 4g63 rebuilt shortblock engine. Besides Slowboy Racing there is also Modern Automotive Performance and I'd really look into something other the the AMS GT850R. There are a lot of other turbo setups that will that match the power of the GT850R that cost a 1/4 of that price.

Be sure you know what you're getting into. You'll face a whole lot of problem with cost not to mention getting yourself into that much power to dangerous and not an easy thing to do.

Just started looking threw all the other vendors I guess I'll just email them all or something today since everything is closed and then see where I'm at. I like the gt850r cause its spools almost as quick as a gt35r but has the out put of a gt37r so yea. I got my car for 300 bucks so Its not like i can sell it to do a swap its point less I would like to reach 500 hp which is possible with that block and all but Im looking to spend no more then 10k hopefully less so i can get my brakes and all. And as far as Modern auto performance I'll def check them out.

It you're only shooting for 500hp you do not need the gt850r, the turbo is not all it takes to make power and it cost less the $10k. I suggest you browse the forums and look at the TECH section for the upgrade process for the 420a before you jump all over this like going into the gt850r. A HX35 or a 50 trim turbo can make 500hp costing a 1/4 less.

well I would love to see it make more power then 500 but it just seems thats what I would get at bout 30 psi. ?

You seem to be a 16 yr teen shooting for big power in the cheapest possible way. All that I can say is start off small and work you're way up and starting off with a gt850r will guarantee to be a failure.

well im not 16 and i just started looking into running turbos. Thats why i posted on here to figure out the best way to get my stuff

lightweight flywheels work fine on eclipses. Why wouldn't they?

They're actually a nice upgrade.

Yea well when I first started looking at parts people said that the clutch like didn't bolt up to the fly wheel which i was like why would they make that if it didn't work?

the flywheel bolts to the clutch. But the 420a flywheel is already light and an aftermarket one won't be worth the weight saving imo. If 500hp is your goal you should really re-think your turbo selection. That turbo is capable of like 800 or something like that. You definately don't need that turbo, and you'll need bigger injectors for that turbo

Ok so if I get bigger injectors then planned and keep the set up would i get well over 500? I know some people running the gt35r and aren't getting 500hp but they aren't running a hole lot of boost. Which made me want to get the next one up from that one and well my goal is 500 but If possible that i could get way more then that then that would be more of what im leaning on.

I said the turbo is caple, not your car(mods lists), I'm not sure if your mods are capable of handling that much...But if you want over 500hp then why don't you get AWD? FWD with that much power is like running in place

well cause I rather have the car platform im working with I can't get a awd drive for any good price so Why wouldn't I just turbo my car. Just cause it has 500hp depends how you drive it easy into it then you will not spin

^^ You can't go wrong with MAPerformance... i kno from experience , i've dealt with most vendors out there and although i'll keep those stories to myself, I can say i trust Chriss at MAP enough that if he says "order "X" part" you better believe i'm ordering it if i can afford it...most helpfull shop i've ever spoke with, from the techs to the owner..great people :thumb:

As for light flywheels, I've got the 8lb fidanza with replacable friction surface ( no more resurfacing BS ) and I love it... yea, the car stalls easier , especially with the AC on now, but boy does she rev faster. :) I wouls say if you can put up with a bit more stalling (some are too picky for noise even, let alone stalls) but if you're ok with it,,,,buy the light one.. i think what you probablyheard about them being bad is from people who run them on their DD cars as i do but are too finicky about stalling and idle quality

There seems to be a lot of 4G63 owners giving a lot of inapplicable advice to this 420A owner. OP, please do your research by searching these forums before making any purchases.

MAPerformance sounds like a great company, but from what I saw on their website, they do not carry many parts for the 420A.

You can use an aluminum flywheel with your car, but you will need to convert from a modular clutch to a non-modular. South Bend Clutches sells both high quality clutches in various configurations, as well as conversion kit:

South Bend Clutch - DXD High Performance Clutches

This kid just doesn't get it and that probably why Slowboy Racing and CI Motorsports don't want to deal with him. He's just gotten way over his head thinking a 420a turbo conversion would be that simple putting all those parts he listing in.

Right off the bat, there are somethings in the lineup that he listed that won't work, and/or are bad parts, and he left out a large chunk of what he needs.

Starting off with the gt35 isn't the best choice and like a newb he buy in to that AMS all the $hit. Not that I'm say that AMS isn't good, but there are MUCH cheaper ways to go. Start off small then go big. I'll guarantee you that starting off big will end in a mishap and a few years down the road it will not be finish and he will give up with a loss of $10K+.

That's my 2 cents, so search the forums on 420a turbo conversion or buy a whole new rebuild race 4g63 longblock to make it easier on yourself.
