What you you suggest I do for a deeper sound to my stock piping?

I have stock piping on my 99 Eclispe GS-T, without a resonator. Hoping it would help which it didnt.. What do you guys suggest I do to reach my goal without hittin my pocket too hard... I want to STAY AWAY from a Ricey Rasp Sound

Apexi N1 or have a shop make your own 2.5" or 3" piping. N1 is quiet and you can just buy the can to fit your application.

The SSA Chrome exhaust sounds great and it's cheap also.. It resembles the Megan Racing exhaust closely...

If I were you I would just get an ebay 3" N1 style cat-back exhaust and an ebay 3" catless downpipe and piece it together.. If you go this route REMOVE ALL RESONATORS and you will truly get a better deeper and throaty roar coming out of your exhaust.. Depending on which turbo you have, you will even be able to hear you turbo whistle out of the exhaust a little like the SRT-4 and 1.8t VWs do.. My bro and I both had gutted ebay exhausts and they not only ran and sounded great, they last a long time.. I had mine for 6 years and no signs of rust for real.. As far as the "ricey and raspy" sound your concerned of, its pretty hard getting and DSM with the 4g63 to sound like that.. Most of them stay at a low and deep sound until you start swapping out turbochargers and even then they are pretty low pitched sounding.. So I wouldnt worry about that.. You can also get an ebay dumped/Not dumped o2 housing and you would have a real great setup (depending which turbo your using).. Just look at the specs and sizes before buying and make sure they go hand in hand with your other exhaust components..

I had an eBay 3" catback when I first got the car with stock downpipe and two HUGE resonators in the catback, sounded like shit and a baby BABY tip.
I personally hated that thing until I got for dirt cheap a custom made Apex'i Dunk MegaPhone with a 3" Punishment Racing downpipe and now it roars.
At idle it sounds very similar to a boxer engine.
I've had my compliments from strangers saying it sounds nice.
Can't wait to upgrade to an Evo 3 and mate it with my FP manifold.

as long as the ebay kit gives me good flow, not too raspy or ricey, and somewhat deep, then im all for it. do you have a link to where you got your VRS 3in? know of any videos?

Opinions, opinions, opinions... and then some more opinions. Even the answer I'm going to give you is 100% my opinion and what I think is a deep exhaust note is different then what the next DSM'r thinks is a deep exhaust note, neither is right or wrong. You might as well make a dart board full of different exhausts and throw a single dart at it, whatever one it hits that will be a deeper exhaust note than stock.

I think I speak for the majority on this site in saying that the decision you make on the exhaust you purchase shouldn't be based on the sound it should be based on the performance and quality. I personally like the HKS hi-power catback exhaust note but its note a discrete setup either, if you have SMOG laws in *cough* CALIFORNIA *cough* the CHP is going to spot it a mile away and give you a hard time. I suggest going to RRE since you live right down the street and have them give you a rally catback exhaust setup, it looks OE so cops won't look twice and gives you a good exhaust note. As far as quality goes, for the money theres nothing better either and you'll get the performance out of it that you would from a $650 name brand setup.
