Alright, I did a search, and there's just too many "Plug Gap" threads to decipher if there's one in there answering my question. So here it is.
I changed the plugs in my car today, yes the same one I've had issues with the ARC-2 AMP in. But anyway, I noticed that the plugs I pulled out had opened up their gap to over .060. There was only 4000 miles TOPS on those plugs, so now the question is what would cause plugs to open up? Is it possible that the AMP somehow caused the plugs to open up? Or do these cars just go through plugs that fast?

Sounds like way too hot of current is coming from this ignition amp that loves to eat up plugs that are not designed for such mods. It's literally eating the main contact down and some of the ground electrode to give you that wide of gap.

Hotter ignitons obviously require wider gaps.

Have you done your ABA testing as you did before to see if the stock ignition runs the car better?

If you want hotter ignitions then use platinum plugs - might give you better duration.

It's been the experience of nearly everyone who's ever tried platinum plugs in a turbo DSM that they are absolutely horrible. Loss of power, missing, hesitation, poor gas mileage, etc. are known to be directly caused by installing platinum plugs in our cars. Maybe a high-voltage ignition system can make up for that, but I really stand by my belief that the best spark plugs for our cars are the standard NGK BPR_ES series.

dido on the ngk bpr_es! bpr6es are the best stock style plugs to run in a dsm. I tried a different type in my 1g awd, and swapped back to ngks almost instantly!
