2G What to do about old gas?

Right before my 2g broke down, I put a full tank of 93 in it and no fuel stabilizer. Its been sitting for almost a year and its about to (hopefully) start running again. Should I siphon out all the old gas? And should I go ahead and do any extensive cleaning or replace anything? Worried I will gunk up my injectors or damage my motor on first start up.

You should be fine. 93 gasoline isn't like E85 where you have to worry about it gumming up. Gas loses octane value if it sits for a long time. It can varnish, but it has to sit for a LONG time. If anything you could put a fuel additive in like seafoam to help pull the water out of the tank.

I don't know if you have ECMlink, if you do you could run the fuel pump for a minute to circulate the fuel and prime it before cranking.

Call your local recycling authorities. They may have disposal instructions as it's considered a dangerous substance.

If the gas is truly a year old and has been sealed up I wouldn’t worry too much. If it was me I wouldn’t be doing much WOT throttle stuff till I burnt most of the old fuel out and got fresh fuel at the most.

Im going to baby it at first since its been sitting for a bit and Im throwing in a new clutch, pressure plate, etc and having the transmission cleaned up so I want to make sure everything breaks in properly. I’ll just cruise around a bit to burn some, top off with fresh a few times, then run it low and do a fresh tank. Thank you

Just so you know, your clutch doesn’t need a break in period. Complete wive’s tail. Just drive it as you would otherwise..

Also, either pump the fuel out and start fresh or, just start it with the fuel in there, run the tank down and fill it up and have fun.

One year is nothing that would bother me.

Thank you. Yea i’ll most likely pump out 5 gal or so and replace it with fresh gas and run it down. Im more concerned about break in period because I also installed a new act streetlite flywheel. At least err on the side of caution since this car sat long before I even got a hold of it also with all the money I just put into new parts.

You do you. A clutch and a flywheel do not need a gentle period. That isn’t how the materials work.

Well, the clutch system components are comparable to new brake pads and rotors. There is a very short "break in" or bedding period. Just before the clutch disc properly mates with the flywheel. It generally happens very quickly in standard scenarios. Just wear the "fuzz" from the the clutch disc and everything is mated almost fully, at least enough to beat on and the rest will happen through use - of your choice.

For the gas, less than a year isn't a huge concern. Though technically past the shelf life of standard gasoline, it's far from becoming varnish and should still burn thoroughly. With engines that don't demand much, I've run 2 year old fuel until it were gone with no issues.

You’ll be fine with year old gas. As someone stated I probably wouldn’t be going balls to the wall and doing WOT pulls but regular daily driving will be fine until the next fill up.
