There are so many npt to an adapters you can do just about any size. In order to make it work though youd want the diameter to be about the same or bigger on the npt.. So in this case would I want to tap it to half inch NPT? or go bigger to 3/4...

Before anyone says weld them, I prefer the tapping method because I am not a welder but its easy to tap threads and seal them.

AN fittings are really measured in 1/16 of an inch sizes. We only ever talk in the numerator size. So 8an is really 8/16" which is 1/2".
I Knew that part but they make all they way down yo 1/8npt to 8an adapter which to me nakes no sense. Thats why i said half inch.. wasnt sure if 3/4 would be over kill but it may be good for 10 or 12an someday if i upgrade

3/8 or -6 NPT is perfectly sized for -8 an. 1/2 NPT would be better suited for -10 AN. 3/8 NPT when made correctly should have the same inside diameter of the -8 an fittings, and takes less precious realestate to drill and tap as well.
