I want this thread to include a technical reference for those of us with stock Eclipse
that want to add a front mounted inter-cooler to replace the stock one.
For starters - what dimensions in inches will fit properly into the opening of
the bumper ?
These come in several categories:
2ga
2gb
2gb with extra space at top opened.
What size inlet/outlet should we purchase - 2.25, 2.5 , 3.0 ?
I expect 2.25 for stock.
Pictures would be really helpful.
I would like to keep the foglights and would like to keep the
bumper behind the skin.
If I have to alter the hard bumper behind the bumper skin - show us.
I also think it fair to include the 1g series
(but I have to admit I have zero 1g experience).
So far I am finding inter-coolers for front mount that connect to the factory side mounted inter-cooler connections in the passenger fender well and
use 2.25 and 2.5 inch tubing.
Where I get lost is the actual dimensions, and how much I have to modify the
inner bumper and the foglights.
