I have a 1990 eagle talon tsi and I am trying to do something right for a change. Right now the car is stock with a rewired wally 255. In the future I want this thing to produce around 400hp with either a 16g or holset hx35 setup and im in the process of upgrading my fuel system. I was wondering what would be best for my intrest I have read 650s will do the job just want to make sure this is correct and is delphi a ok brand? what brand do you prefer? Also dont plan on going E-85 at this time just some pump gas. I have DSMlink v3 to tune and was just wondering can you go too big on the injectors? I have heard going to big makes the car idle poorly? Is this true. Thanks

More importantly, what are you tuning with? If its DSM/ECMLink, just get 1150cc's and you most likely wont have to upgrade again.

Sorry I ment to mention that I have DSMlink v3 for tunning. I was thinkning about going big but will that hurt me in any way. like putting 1150s in, and very rarley using 20% duty cycle will this make the car run bad at idle or when I dial them in will the engine run like normal? Thanks for the fast replies. My profile is now updated too thanks.

im not sure if i would get 1150's Dont you think thats alittle too redundant!?!
I mean if you don't plan to go over 400hp (which is hard not to when you get up that high, you keep wanting more) why need such a big injector?
I say go with 850's!!
thats more in the middle!
And more reasonable!

Why would 1150cc's be overkill if he can control them just like 780cc's or 880cc's? Its better to buy once, rather than find yourself down the road with a big turbo and 105% IDCs wishing you bought bigger.

If you have a goal, why would you pay $100 more for "just in case"? If you want "just in case" then call safe auto. I would go with 680s and the max 750s. Injectors are harder to tune in the big range ESPECIALLY if you aren't using them to their full potential. Some Searching will give you a great idea of what other people's setup's are and what suits them well. But if you ever plan on running e85, I would go 1000cc and up.

And your car is probably overrunning the stock fuel pressure regulator with that 255. Did you get an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator yet? If not, put that on your fuel mod list to get along with the injectors.

On MAP's webiste:
$280 for 880cc
$324 for $1050

To me, spending $44 now is better than spending $280 now, then maybe spending another $324 later...

But whichever injectors the OP goes with, GL on your goal

660's are small and if you have ecmlink that would be a waste. Get some 1150's and call it a day. They will idle just fine and you will have room to grow. They will cover anything on some gas.

My goal originally was 400whp on my 16g. Now that I'm there its not enough. Even if you have a goal now, they may change. Get the larger injectors and you will be covered.

Who's goal ever stays the same for very long? The need for more power and boost will soon want you having 500whp. Once you get used to the feel of 400 whp, it starts to not feel as fast anymore. Your passengers think you're crazy for saying that, but you get used to it and need more. Hey, its better than needing more drugs to get your fix. :D

Get 1150 inj and be done with it.

Eventually you will want to run E-85 to give it a try. Once you try it, you won't want to run pump gas anymore and you'll be glad you have the 1150s. I am only blending 30% E-85 in and am already hooked on the stuff. 22-24* timing on 9:1 CR. :rocks:

Think about it like this. They use 440cc for the stock 210hp. 880cc should support 420hp give or take. 950cc will leave you with room to grow and let me tell you they will idle perfect, I had the t25 after my 2.3 stroker build with a solid idle @ 950rpms. I only set it there to hide the lope from the FP3 cams.

Since you have DSMLink, I would go with a large injector like 950-1150 since you can easily compensate and will have plenty of room to grow. 400whp on a 16g is no easy task and E85 or race gas is a necessity.

Thanks a million for the replies I just ordered a set of Delphi 950cc for $237 brand new on sale at advanced fuel injection. Now its just dialing them in and off to the power upgrades. Thank you:thumb:
