What sensor is this?

it is a 97 GSX with a 6bolt swap the manifold is a 1g as well. My question is what is this sensor and is there is a better way of attaching the hose? it keeps coming apart.

That's the MDP sensor. On the 2g manifold it's mounted on top of the manifold as it has a hole tapped for it.

Just flat the beginning of the "MDP Sensor" where the end hose meet, so it can stay on its place and if you want to be more satisfy put a new hose or cut the end of the hose so it can be more tight.
Here is a pic of what I am talking about, the figure is the nipple where the hose meet.
I had the same problem, But when I did this it was the last time that I worried about it.

Tape the string to the tooth pick and but it through the vac line

stick the tooth pick in the hole so no glue gets in there. use aglue that can be undone, I ended up not using the crazy glue but just some elmers type knock off this way it can be undone. I just put a light bead of glue around the nipple

and then a bead around the outside to seal it

You are correct. That is for people who have a 2g intake manifold and do not run the stock MDP sensor any more, but want to use that to feed a MAP sensor or the like.

What you've done looks like it should work. Post back when you have everything installed so people know how it worked out.

Very interesting manifold you have though. I'd like to meet the person who decided to just drill and tap the plenum to gain more vacuum sources

FOR THE RECORD, it didnt work.:ohdamn: glue pulled right off. Theoretically it made sense. oh well, if anyone has any other good ideas throw it at me Im more then willing to try. I just picked up the car and have other fish to fry.

Oh yeah sorry about that, that was was the wrong one :p. Here is the one you could have used. 2G MAP Sensor Adapter
thank you, That is a beautifuly machined piece, but to much $ for me.
