What sensor is this?

So i just got my dsm a week ago and noticed that the wires going to this connector were just hanging there. It looks like a coolant temp sensor to me but im not sure and im not having any problems with my temp gauge. But i do have a odd idle when i first start the car then it goes away. anyways here is the pic

Yup AC still works and everything wierd

IIRC that sensor is there to tell the ECU when to turn the a/c fan.
