what sensor is this?

so i had a leaking injector, no biggie, i unhooked half the harness layed it out the way and replaced it, 3 of the mother ...... harnes's for sensors broke the 2 below this no problem i just cut and added conectors and straight wired it but i cant exactly do that to this one, which sensor is it? i looked it up and i think it said air conditioning coolant temperature sensor. my temp gauge still works, is this the sensor for my radiator fan that kicks on when my ac is switched on if not what is it, rough idea on prices for new one? and do i unscrew it or do i need a new housing.

It kind of seems like the temp sensor, those are pretty cheap, around $20 at autozone

do you know which one tho? when i looked up all the sensors i think that one is the air conditioning coolant temp sensor (or that's what alldata said), does it control fans (one or both)? if it only controls the A/c fan then im not going to worry about it bc i don't have ac. but if its important than imma replace it

also it didnt set off any CEL's

It doesn't control any of that, I think its the one that determines the engine temperature, but I'm not really sure, if it is the temp sensor you will get a check engine light

Does the temperature needle inside the car move?

it has 2 sensors below and on my diagram it said one was my gauge and the other was coolant temp.

The bigger one is the temp sensor, the smaller one goes to your gauge inside the car

It looks to be the coolant temp switch. You might want to bend the upper intercooler piping alittle so that i doesnt hit any of the sensors. i also have a 1g tsi
