All oil is the same unless its synth. If anything I would not drive the car in the winter and just use full-synth all the time, that would be my opinion.

I use a 5W-20 oil in my car. Ive never had any problems with it and I drive mine in the winter, and summer.
For a breaking you are going to want to nurture the motor and have it seat correctly. I would use a full synthetic by Mobil or Valvoline. The weight is really up to you, as lots of people will run different weighted oils. I run 5-20 and my buddy in his talon ran 5-30 synthetic in his TSi. now he runs 10W-40 in his B18 honda in the winter. WTF best of luck to you man.

Find a full synthetic that suits you. I happen to use 10w-30 Amsoil Turbo formula year-round and it has done its job very well. Brand is much less important than it being a full synthetic in an appropriate weight.

Otherwise, I always use Castrol GTX 10W-30

breaking is about 500 miles i would use plain motor oil for breaking and then use a synthetic. i use amsoil and that is all i will use

thanks guys...i went with 10w30 non-synth for breakin. after that i will use 5w30 synth...i thought that it was a good idea to use "real" oil for breakin.
