Ok I have always run full synthetic mobil one oil in my trucks an cars but this is my first big build car an first turbo... I was talkin to some folks who ran turbo cars and they said I need to stay far far away from synthetic with a turbo.....?!?! Any reason or are they just mistaken on facts?

Full synthetic is fine. I think you should worry more on oil weight and zinc count for built engines.

Everybody has what they like. There are a lot of different treads that argue whats best, and most of the time it comes out to personal preference. I personally use Castrol 10-40 on a fresh rebuild and then switch it out to Castrol 10-40 synthetic after 500-1000.

What is the reasoning of using conventional at first after a build than going to synthetic? Also i bought this eclipse in mid December... They told me that if I wanted it running right to use only racing oil if not mistaken 50 weight may be wrong. It's been in the shop getting a brand new turbo down pipe full exhaust a log manifold an some other treats. But before I get it out my shop is doing a oil change for free LOL after I spend 6,000 I get an oil change LOL. Anyways have y'all had any issue getting oil into the turbo like blow-back???

Yes you want to use conventional oil in a freshly built engine. Something to do with that synthetic is more slippy.

I don't really understand your last question. You mean in air intakes?

The reasoning behind using a conventional oil during engine break in is to allow the rings to "seat" against the cylinder walls. Synthetic oil is too slick and won't create enough friction for the rings to seat, causing severe blow by and oil consumption. I'm not quite sure what you're asking in your last question either.

No guess we don't really need another one. I was just asking bout the blow by in the last question just misstated it a bit. But all in all after I finish breaking it in I can switch to using synthetic just need a heavier weight so I don't have any blow by correct?

You'll always have blowby - that's a given fact with piston driven engines. Why we have a thing called a PCV system-to recirculate the blow-by gases back into the intake system.

Just that you want to have as much minimized blowby as possbile-why you do break-ins with dino oils, then can switch to synth after a few thousand miles..
