well. i got the block out and torn down now... all the exhaust valves kissed the pistons.. so pistons are definately in order. probably end up with rods, as i hear the stock 7 bolts are kinda weak. definately balance shaft elimination, obviously head work, i was wondering what kind of hp the stock TB will support, as well as the MAF. also, gsx, is this tranny capable of holding 400 without takin a big ole dump?
thoughts and comments appreciated

Well, your rebuild is going to be determined by what you want to make power wise. If you plan on staying under 400hp, then the stock rods should suffice. What kind of head work are you planning on? The MAF is good to IRC 500ish. It's not really about the HP numbers that choke the MAF and TB, it's the amount of air a turbo is sucking/blowing. I'm planning on some decent numbers with my build and using a 1g TB (60mm). Also, it's not HP that will kill the tranny, it's the torque that will get it. If you have the money now and while the tranny is out, get it rebuilt with stronger gears. The 2g tranny isn't the strongest out there.

Please use propper grammar as well :thumb:

The stock 7 bolt will hold up to around 350 hp. 6 bolt will hold to about 500 some have 600. For the TB, i dont know, but use an upgrade path. Most of us start with exhaust, and maybe a 16g and do some porting. Now when you said obviously head work, you mean ported i guess. i ported my head because i want more flow. stock heads flow pretty good, i read that some people run 9s with them but im not sure if that was 1g or 2g. read up, all the information is on here, but its not always accurate, but the majority is. I catch somethings sometimes and ill add corrections.
