What kind of turbo is this?

Not a bad find for free.

It appears to have a T3-flanged turbine inlet and a nice v-band outlet. You'd need a manifold that is set up with a T3 flange and an external wastegate to make this work, however. Powerwise it would be on-par with the T25 you were going to buy for $30, but this would be a much bigger pain to install.

Wow, thanks guys.
How much are these worth? Because this was free!
No miles on it, LOL.
I'm writing the man a letter.

oh......
Well now that I have the bad news, I'm kinda unhappy.

...its still a PITA to install a turbo on a N/A car so id try to get that thing to work. its unique and until you get your internals capable of running in the double digits with boost i think that 13g would be perfect. nice catch and hopefully i see that thing in your engine bay soon... :rocks:

:dsm:

I would list it on eBay. Honda guys have huge erections for T25's and 13G's....the fact that this turbo is different from a regular 13G may make it worth some money. If you could get $150 or more out of it you could use that toward turboing your car!

Gonna be listed as "Rare" 13G Mitsubishi turbo.

WTF you guys are insane???!!!! he could get rid of that if its brand new, and unused for AT LEAST 150$ i got rid of mine for 100$ and that was with 76k on it...throw it on the tuners classifieds with pics and throw it on ebay with a reserve. youll be set kid.

The 3000GT guys buy 13G's as well. They are usually willing to pay more than they are worth to us.

Lofty - Post up some pictures of the turbine inlet and the CHRA as well.

jusmx141 - What application would have used a 13G with a T3 inlet, v-band outlet, and no internal wastegate? I've owned 13G's before, but never one that looked like this one.

First off the turbocharger is used!
but if it is free then i would take it!
But most of those turbochargers have the T2 style flanges but can not tell by those pictures!

just my $.02

It's possible that it's not a true 13G....I've never seen a 13G with (7) compressor major blades. I was simply using 13G as a size comparison as the turbo indeed a TD04.

It's probably off of some small diesel truck....one of those little 4-cylinder Mitsubishi diesels or something similar. I can't imagine what other application would need a smallish turbo with an exhaust housing that can handle a high volume of air like the one shown. Normally you'll see bigger exhaust housings mated to smallish compressor housings on diesels where the engine has a large displacement and very high compression ratio.

I tried to Google the part number and came up with nothing.

Thanks everyone for attempting to figure this out,
Here's the pictures as requested.

It's not the same part number as the one on Midland's site.

I still say it fits some small diesel truck application. There were even 4-cylinder Mitsubishi turbo diesels used in Ford Ranger pickups in the mid-'80s, so who knows!

That's the thing though, I'm almost positive this came off a machine.
My dad works at a generator factory.
