What kind of turbo is this?

Anyknow know what kind of turbo this is? My bud took it as a trade in at his shop and we have no clue of what kind of turbo it is. Looks to be some sort of a 16G...any suggestions?

Ebay knock off turbos look different , they have Big16g or Evo3 stamped on them. Trust me i had one .

you should be able to look for a number on it, that would be a real evo III 16G

Without a serial # it could be one of many turbos. It looks like a knockoff ebay 16g. 14b, small 16g, big 16g, and 20g's all have TDO5H housings on them. Try to get a picture of the turbine.

The shine on the comp cover makes me think it a knock off but usually the WG flapper arm on the knock offs don't look like the one in the pic, which looks like a MHI. From what I can see the turbine housing looks to be MHI & I also see some paint marks that MHI uses during assembly, while I don't believe the knock off do. Take a pic of the comp cover with a close up of the numbers that are cast & stamped into the cover, this will tell us exactly what you have.

The exhaust housing looks like evoIII but I cant tell you weather it is a knock off or not without the numbers.
