Hi, I'm just curious at what kind of MPG (miles per gallon) or how many miles you are getting per full tank?

please list mods and type of driving

I'm currently getting around 210-230 miles per full tank, i fill my tank with exactly 11 gallons of 92 octane. thats what 20 bucks buy in hawaii.

right now i have just an intake, 2.5 dp and 3in full piping catback

car is just used for transportation, once in a while i would just sample it a few times.

So maybe I am just superstitious. Or maybe the ECU was adjusting to the lower octane gas and having troubles in the mean time. Either way, It really only equates to $3 more per tank, at the most. Running the car on 91 is much more enjoyable than on 87. Call it $3 for your psychological health.

Since 95 has there been anything updates so I should get my ECU flashed or updated whatever it gets? Also would it automatically re-adjust from having 87 in it to 91+?

The "octane value" is a term coined by Todd Day to refer to the memory address that is used as a longterm timing trim. If the ECU hears a moderate amount of knock for a long time, or alot of knock for a shorter amount of time, it will keep reducing the value in this memory address. Normally set at 255 (FULL), it will keep getting reduced as long as it hears knock. This could be due to just getting a bad tank of gas, or perhaps running more boost than you are tuned for. But, even if you fix the problem, by filling back up with good premium fuel, or turning down the boost, the "octane value" can take several hundred miles to work its way back up to "FULL" value again.

Octane value had my car fooked for a little bit before i reset the ecu.

Reason I ask is that I figured mine out today and I am getting around 7-10 mpg :coy:. I has been throwing a cel so I am having it checked today and I have a feeling it is an o2 sensor. If it comes back non fuel related I am going to boost leak test the car again and see what I can find.

I drive the car hard but I still think this is pretty shitty mileage for a semi modded car. Oh well

7-10mpg is almost definitely a bad front O2 sensor, or a completely clogged fuel filter. And given that the O2 sensors die on a regular basis, and the fuel filters only need to be changed once or twice a lifetime (on average), I'd say to grab a new front O2.

Driving sane on highway I get 22mpg, but at 12lbs and WOT it goes down to 15mpg, in city its 16mpg sane and 12mpg or lower WOT. At 75mph on highway and 3k rpm's on other roads, I go 250miles on a tank...give or take 50miles. Oh yeah mines a stock 5spd Talon TSi on 93 octane.

My GSX is getting about 25-30mpg when my foot is in economy mode. I get right at 300 or so miles per tank. (12gallons) My old 1.8 got 4-500 miles to the tank on average. On a 6-7hour highway trip the 1.8 would get in the neighborhood of 43mpg

Around 29MPG. <26% throttle on the HWY with 110 octane. Anything above 55% throttle = . 5-speed '97 GSX.

97 GST t25 hard UIC pipe 1g BOV modded intake and I get 27 MPG Highway 80 mph. City is only slightly worse and due to my heavy foot.
I am about to put a 3 inch exhaust and ported ported 14b with ported mani it will be interesting to see the diff in MPG.

I used to get 18mpg on 12 PSI and the Gain control upped to 10%. This makes the turbo to kick in earlier and spool faster.

I turned off my Greddy Profec B Spec 2 (gas is expensive!) and am using stock boost.
Im getting 22 mpgs now with conservative driving.

I have a 95 gsx auto, 6 bolt swap. Im running a big t 28 at 18psi with other mods and I get between 19 and 22 miles per gallon. When my gas gauge is at E, and I go to fill up I only get about 9 gallons of gas. So I basically just fill up when I hit 200-220 miles to be safe.

I forgot to add, this is not highway driving. This is normal driving conditions, but not stuck in traffic. If im on the highway I notice way better gas mileage.

so it doesnt really matter what kind of setup you have as long as u drive normally and have a good tune you should be getting just as good mileage as stock?

Actually, with a good tune you can get better than stock mileage, since stock it is set up to run a little rich. With a wideband and a fuel computer you can run leaner. Scott Gray used to average 24mpg in his 1g AWD. I average 21 right now with basically no tune. We will see what happens when I get my new EPROM chip and 780's in as well as my Cyclone intake working. They are said to improve mileage.

That's basically true, that's why I get about 27MPG...and that's on 110 octane. :D

220-240 Miles PER 50/55 Liter 94 Octane Gas Tank? Is there something wrong? Because with current gas prices this car is killing me. I am running Border Optimal/Rich on A/F gage but never over.

Current Mods:
Stock Boost (12-13 PSI on the boost gage, stock BC)
Injen Intake with K&N Filter
FPBigT28
Professionally custom welded 2.5 Chrone IC Piping
31" FMIC (3" In/outlets)
Greddy Type RS BOV (Venting)
Hybrid Connection 2.5" O2 Sensor housing
Custom welded stainless steel 2.5" DP, Magna Flow High Flow 3"CAT, 3" Cat Back with Magna Flow "Muffler"

Edit: ACT 2100 Forenza Light Flywheel

Engine Rebuild 30 000Miles ago
Most parts you can see in engine bay been replaced with new parts <5000 Miles ago (Like alternator, power steering pump, starter, O2 sensors and MUCH more...)

Really 20mpg isn't all that low for a GSX, even totally stock my car never got better then 26, now modded to the 300whp range it still gets 20-22 depending on how I drive.

Check the alignment and tire air pressure, they can kill your milage.
Dirty injectors can hurt also, run a few tanks with some injector cleaner.
Venting the RS is not helping you at all, you lose already metered air so you go rich every time it vents.

Keep your foot off the accelerator when your at stop signs and lights...

50 Liters = 13 Gallons US
230Miles/13G that's ~16/17 mpg

Stock Pump and wiring (for now) I never changed the fuel filter (since i got it 1 year ago, and before that it prob never got changed)
Stock Injectors as far as i know
Alignment is wayy off in my car now since i got new camber kit. I am gonna do it soon. Even before I had to replace front cambers it was doing same mileage

RS Venting (i am gonna get GM MAF and MAFT Gen 2 soon with 550cc + Datalogger but thats 2-3 month from now)
