I found a 1996 Spyder GST for $4900. It is a 5-speed, 91,000 miles on it, white with black top, 17 inch rims. There is 80% tread left on the tires but the guy has a brand new never used set of tires for the car that is included in the price. He says the top doesn't leak, but it had a rip and was repaired, but he didn't like it, so he bought a brand new oem top that isn't installed and is included with the car. He says the interior is really nice, everything inside works, but you have to help the top up a little bit. He doesn't know if the timing belt has been replaced or not. It has a 3 inch cat back exhaust, 16G turbo, apexi intake and a greddy bov. He says it runs great and has no issues. He says he just wants to get rid of it because he doesn't drive it and its taking up space in his garage, which sounds good to me because he kept it garaged at least. he also said that the paint is good on it, no clear coat coming off, no body damage or dents. I'm going to check for crankwalk be looking at the clutch pedal when I turn left. I have been talking to the guy over the phone and I'm suppose to go drive for 4 hours to go and buy it if it checks out on Thursday. Does it sound good? Should I ask him or check for other things on it?

Honestly if he has actually put over 10k in upgrades and is only pushing 300hp then something is seriously wrong LOL... But seriously i highly doubt he actually put that kind of money into it, also the listing never said any of the supposed mods/upgrades other than the 6 bolt swap done to the car.. mainly just drive it and see if he knows what has been done to it and basically if it has been done right or not. Other than that as long as it runs and drives good id say it prob. be worth it seeing that it has the 6 bolt swap as long as it was done right.. Hope this helps.. Let us know what you find..

No where close to 10k in upgrades, take it for a spin and see how it feels. If its clean both inside and out consider it. Also, check the compression!!! Can't stress that enough.

Dude is it a legit 300HP or just what some dude told you? I've been there once before "This car is pushing 315 to the wheels" Well the car hit the dyno and was pushing 280... F' me right.

10k in parts probably means he is including the paint, rims being chromed, window tint, and suspension.

None of these things really increase performance except maybe the suspension but it looks fairly slammed so my guess is he probably either heated or cut the springs or bought ebay coil overs which are WORSE than stock.

He is also probably selling it because he put on the greddy BOV with out doing a maf and MAFT translator and is wondering why his car is running like crap.

Honestly it looks like rice.

Oh, not to mention he has cold air intake on there. Which is pretty funny with that alone.

I have a chance to buy a 1995 gst for 800$. It has a fmic, fpr, mbc, evo 3 16g, hks bov, and a rebuilt 7 bolt. The problem with it is that his ex-girlfriend cut the cam position sensor and the crank sensor.
He told me that the car would have to be rewired(is this true) or can i just buy a wiring harness.

And also what is a reasonable price for a rewiring and is it going to be a PITA down the road if i fix it, or is it a steal for the car.
Thanks

Personaly I think its a good deal if your good with rewiring. Did the wires on the sensor or the harness get cut? I'm guessing the harness from your post. I was told you cant cut and splice the 2G harnesses(not sure). You might check DSM Graveyard or OnGreenPerformance for a harness. I would buy it :thumb:. But hey thats my.02 Gl and happy tuning

Dude!! $800!!! What are you waiting for? The fmic, fpr, and turbo would be around $800.
I say do it, worst case scenario is if the car is shot just part it out and make some money.

thats the way to do it. i picked up my 95 gst for 900 cause the guy thought the front end was gonna fall apart. all it was when they did the brakes they never put the brake clips back in so the pads where bouncing every where

I agree with the others. If the rest of the car is in decent shape, you could make more then $800 parting it out so I don't see any reason you shouldn't buy it.

Lmao :thumb: dude everyone agrees its a steal . Get it , for 800 your off to a good start :thumb: Gl and have fun bro

Thats what im sayin ,,, If i had 800 bones I'd already be there :p serious :thumb: to getting it .

216xxxkm
has GM MAF Translator, FMIC, Manual Boost Controller, Basically Brand new Rad, GReddy Type RS BOV

Also has dual gauge pod, not sure what gauges. I still need to look at it.

The real Bad:
Jumped timing, according to the seller by 1 tooth.

So is the a good deal for $600 cdn and my used 16gb ipod touch?
Thanks

He was asking $2600 for it and a 91 tsi awd that had also skipped timing. I'll most likely just take the gm maf and anything else that strikes my fancy and part out the rest and then use the 6bolt in my 98 later on down the road. But just looking for input on it.
Thanks.
