:confused:ok i just bout a 6bolt for 675 dollers. this is what he sed about it [(up for auction is my 4g63T from my 1991 Eagle talon TSI AWD, this Turbo motor ran great, perfect compression (160,158,160,160) test performed right before the motor was pulled. The motor has 89,876 miles on it and about 10,000 miles ago all the gaskets(on the block) and a new front case/Oil pump and rear main seal. Also a Mitsu MLS headgasket was installed too. motor was pulled because i have a larger displacement 2.4 (G4CS) waiting to be put in. The car never burned oil and always started. The motor is being sold as a long block with head, no pan, valve cover, timing cover, as i had to use these items on my 2.4L. I can include a pan, valve cover, and any other accessories needed but bidder will have to pay the buy it now price. The gaskets and seals in the head are the original ones and probably wouldn't hurt to replace. block has never been rebuilt all oem on the inside. I would prefer local pick-up but can ship( buyer will need to pay exact shipping costs calculated at checkout.. I will be happy to assist in any way i can, and will answer any questions you might have as i want this transaction to be smooth as possible for both sides.
forgot to mention that the motor has a balance shaft elimination kit installed already.)] What do you guys think? my plans are to build this motor all winter?...

that sounds like a perfectly functional engine, if i was going to build an engine i would have bought one that needed to be rebuilt for a 100 to 150 dollars. instead of paying alot more for a great running motor just to take it apart and put better parts in it?

That's a bit too rich for my blood. You can find a complete 6bolt with the head for $500 at junkyards. You're going to be rebuilding it anyways, so who cares if the seals are new or not? Go on car-part.com and Craigslist and look around.

Yeah, thats too much. Now if you wanted to directly drop that motor in and you needed it quickly okay.

But since you say you want to build it? What do you mean exactly by that, if you mean building it with forged internals you should of def. bought a rebuildable block.

Should of shopped around a bit longer always deals to be found by people cleaning out the garage and people parting out. However thats just my oppion and im just a cheap @$$ most of the time or just look for cheap deals LOL.

In general thats not a horrid price for a running six bolt. If your intent is to just procure a donor engine to rip it into shreds and build a new one. The more economical choice is to find a non running long block, If it has a 10 day warranty or anything like that buy it for a few hundred bucks take it have the block checked for cracking/fatigue and it if all checks out your in good shape to go a head with your rebuild. The extra several hundred dollars could have helped when it comes time to buy internals or getting the machine work taken care of.
