what head size head gasket do i need for a .30 over bore will the stock 86.5 work or do i need a 87mm?

personally, I wouldn't re-use a headgasket. Even if it hasn't been heat cycled. Thats just me, but I honestly think it would work. Again, I agree with the copper spray, I think its great stuff.

THANK GOD now onto the second question i have not started my motor after assembling my top and bottom end together with a cometic headgasket in between the two but the gasket has been torqued down. i have decided that im going to replace the valve springs and need to pull the head off to do so. will the gasket be fine to reuse?
A better idea would be to get this tool which allows you to remove/install the valve springs without removing the head. It will be a lot less work, save time and you don't have to worry about whether or not to replace/reuse the head gasket.
