what head gasket to use

what head size head gasket do i need for a .30 over bore will the stock 86.5 work or do i need a 87mm?

The "standard" 86.5mm head gasket will work, a larger one is not needed.

THANK GOD now onto the second question i have not started my motor after assembling my top and bottom end together with a cometic headgasket in between the two but the gasket has been torqued down. i have decided that im going to replace the valve springs and need to pull the head off to do so. will the gasket be fine to reuse?

Yes, if you used copper spray just wipe it off. If you did not use copper spray use it when you put the head back on.

personally, I wouldn't re-use a headgasket. Even if it hasn't been heat cycled. Thats just me, but I honestly think it would work. Again, I agree with the copper spray, I think its great stuff.

I agree. It may work in the begining but you are sure to have some issues with it down the road trust me I have been there more than once. After trying it several times with no long term sucess I just resolve to always use a new whenever I had to separate from the block. I have also tried many of headgaskets and the best IMO is the Hks stopper. This is what I am currently running

A better idea would be to get this tool which allows you to remove/install the valve springs without removing the head. It will be a lot less work, save time and you don't have to worry about whether or not to replace/reuse the head gasket.
