What goes bad in a pressure plate?

I know this is a problem that like never happens but I believe my pressure plate is bad. My slave cylinder moves and the fork moves as well. I can change gears if I rev match but not by using the clutch pedal itself. I'm pretty sure my pressure plate is bad but dunno what would go bad where the springs are at. Anyone looked inside one before? I have less than 100 miles on this thing.

The fingers can break off. Or the surface that contacts the clutch can wear. I would say fingers out of these two though.

Well, I've looked at it and the fingers aren't even. It was installed correctly but they're not even. Would that prevent it from disengaging?

So it sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging despite that the pedal operates as normal. I had this happen before. In my case, it was a spring that had fallen out of the friction disc and lodged itself between the disc and the flywheel. Screwed everything up pretty good. Bye bye Fidanza.

Well, it's not the clutch spring. The clutch disc looks just fine.

Have you unbolted it from the flywheel yet? If not, do so and see what is wedged between the disc and flywheel/pressure plate causing the fingers to be uneven.

I forgot to give an update so thought I would real quick since someone pm'd me asking about any updates. To fix my problem, I had to rebuild the master cylinder. But my pressure plate was also bad. But it wasn't the fingers. It was the straps (well that's what Spec was calling it anyway). I sent them pics and they told me to send it to them and a few days later I got it back, rebuilt with new straps. My clutch had maybe less than 50 miles on it but they took care of me so I'm happy.
