What EXACTLY is required to go from a 1g MAS to a 2g MAS?

I'd like go from a 1g MAS to a 2g MAS. I'd like to make everything as plug and play (or at least as simple as possible).

I checked the VFAQ but that was years ago. How easy can I make this? Are adapters available etc?

The stock 2G accordian intake and maf bolt right up a 14b/16G style inlet, from there you just need a filter that fits in the 1G engine bay. It's very easy. As far as TunerPro goes, it's extremely easy too, just adjust the MAF compensation with the numbers that are out there and go.



I'm still tempted to do a write-up on getting started with an Ostrich and TunerPro.
 
Thanks, and really appreciate all of your help. I have a GVR4 with an ETS intercooler plus the ETS intake. Any ideas in that case? Would rather keep my ETS intake since I went through such trouble to get it on there and completed.

Yes, you should do a writeup on Tunerpro. There is one here somewhere, but to be honest it was over my head. I think that is normal though. LOL

Some days I'd rather forget too...largely due to compatibility issues.

So I have to get rid of that blue ETS coupler leading into the MAS? What kind of MAS is that guy running in the first pic...doesn't look like a 1g to me..could be wrong though.

Also I can't use the same size filter anymore on the 2g can right?

Snap, forgot you were a GVR4. But, just a reducer coupler is all you need. It's a 4" coupler to 3".
 
There is a much simpler way to do this depending on the XDF you have.

But, I prefer to share how to do things in HEX as people get a better Idea about what there are really doing and working with... . As well if you don't have any XDF defined you can still make these changes(or use this info to add that to a XDF if converted from hex)

At Address: 7B6E - 7B82
you need to change it to this below

85 85 A8 B6 BE C3 C8 CC D0 D4 D7 DA DC E3 E6 E8 EB EA EA E8 E7

From this

The 1g maf is above... Gvr-4 is very slightly different and will look like below

7C 7C 6B 6A 6E 76 78 7B 7B 7D 7F 81 83 89 8A 8D 8D 8B 87 87 82

As well you need to change another byte that serves as a multiplier. This is located at the address 5669, and the stock value at this point is 64 in hex. For a 2g MAS, change that to 40 hex.

In addition, in order to make sure the timing and fuel maps still line up, you need to change the value at 549A from 5E86 (1g) or 62B9 (GVR-4), to the 2g value which is 7A03.

This is assuming you are using a Fairly stock E931/E943bin
