What else can a socketed EPROM get me?

So, I have tried searching for more information, but I still have questions.

I know what an EPROM is.
I know about socketing.
I know that you need this for a few types of engine management setups.

My question is, what all can a socketed EPROM get me? I might be buying a new 92 talon with a socketed ECU. Other than DSMlink, what all can I do with this? I guess I am just looking for a list of things that I can use with the socketed EPROM. Most people posted have a management software/setup in mind and are asking how to socket their EPROM. I've got the socketed EPROM, but I don't know what I'd want to use, if anything. The car already has a GM MAF and I have SAFC. So I might not need to use the EPROM at all. But if there was something cheap/free out there that could let em take advantage of it, I'd want to try it out.

you can get a basic functions burnt onto a chip (Injector compensatoin, launch control, ect)
Tunerpro RT

DSMlink

Ditch the piggybacks if your going with bigger than 660 injectors, and get DSMlink.

Dsmlink FTW. Most people get eprom to run dsmlink. But you can run other stuff.

Buy a burner and some chips on ebay for $30, and do whatever you want.

Link V3 is the easiest of them all and the logging is outstanding.
