does anyone know any places where I could get my eprom socketed? Around the chicago area, in chicago itself. thanks :thumb:

Corey, just send the damn thing to Tom and Dave. ;) I thought you already got DSMlink?

PM steve on here; he might be willing to do it for you. (Not sure if he's doing stuff like that on the side, but I'd trust him with my ECU and a soldering iron. :thumb: )

Its one of those things that needs to be done on the spot yaknow? Like I drive my car there, take out the ecu on the spot, have them socket the bi***, then put in my tmostg3 in that bi***, put it back in the car, and drive away. I don't want to send it out nowheres.

Whoops, looks like I confused your username with someone elses...I thought you were someone I know around here with a 2g GS-T. ;) Sorry about that.

Like 92awddsm said, any shop that does basic electronics work should be able to help you out, or as I mentioned before, steve on here (he's local to Chicago) might be doing that kind of thing on the side.

BTW, Ed thanks for the kind words.

It looks like I'll have to get some flip down magnifing glasses if I do a lot of these. Finding the last set of opened traces on ITSME4G63's ECU took forever. The darn things were microscopic and I missed them the first 100 passes or so. It wasn't until I got the scope out trying to figure out why the the fuel pump wouldn't come on that I found the problem and then quickly found the cause.

Steve
