Hey guys, I just bought a socketed 95 Eprom ECU for my 96 TSi. I'm not getting dsmlink yet but my ECU is fried. I just want to make sure of something before I plug it in... I can just plug this in and go right? I don't have to have a chip or dsmlink to use it do I?

do you happen to know how your original ecu got damaged ?I ask because if your wiring is at fault, you wouldn't want to plug in your good ecu as it may get damaged also.

Its a long story but basically the guy before me ran a screw through it and shorted a pin out. Now at about 5k rpm my afrs spike to 14.7 for a second and almost no matter what I can't even make the CEL come on.
