Resolved What downpipe to buy quick???

I'm looking at the 3in Megan racing downpipe which costs 180 for the awd version at punishment racing, but I heard any stainless steel downpipe operates the same. Is this true and should I buy this downpipe?

Yep, they're all pretty much the same. Pipe is pipe. I have the Megan, it fits great.

Well..... theyre kind of all the same. Most go from 2.5" at the o2 housing and flare to 3" at the flex.
That pic sure looks like its 3" from the top all the way down. I'm not sure what o2 housing you're using or if a 3" can fit. Maybe an evo3 o2 housing?

Wait. Zoomed in on the pic, yea it is 2.5" but goes to 3" immediately it looks like. Chain is only as strong as its weakest link so you are bottlenecked by the 2.5". It may flow better than an ebay 3" dp but marginally at best. So to sum up: basically erik is right, pipe is pipe in my book. As long as it fits right its fine. I have an ebay full 3" and it looks amazing. 4500 miles of use on it and bolted up for 2 years now.

Unless you're pushing 500hp you're not going to notice any difference between any of the available downpipes. That one should work just fine. I think I had a Megan Racing on the 1g for a while and it was good. I have an RRE downpipe on the Talon with the correct angle for the Evo 3 O2 housing, though I could have gone with any downpipe and just had added stress on the housing bolts. Didn't feel like dealing with snapped bolts later.

I found it on ebay 10 bucks cheaper but if you want the Megan then just buy from one of our vendors. 10 bucks is no big deal and it helps the community, right?

Well in that case get a down pipe to o2 sensor housing flange for a dsm, and some pre bent pipes,flex tubing etc, and some basic pipe and then have a muffler shop weld all the pipes together on your dsm, or [if you have the skills/ tools]weld it in yourself that would likely cost less...but if time is an issue buy a pre made one [not sure about quality] but I found this one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-R...SX-DSM-2G-TALON-TSi-TURBO-4G63T-/190925778359 it looks like it has no provisions for a catalytic converter...

What does this downpipe meet up to? The Megan awd downpipe I had on a s16g had a sleeve end on it which made fitment easier. The punishment is a 3inch flange and might be harder to get a good seal on a 16g

As far as quality megen is hard to beat for the money.

You can get an awd 1g dp for 80 shipped on ebay... if you choose to go vendorless this is the route. Also, many of these have issues with evo o2 housings, ebay or not.
