Tried to find out where the exhaust leak is and ended up snagging the plastic line for my oil pressure gauge breaking it off at the housing...then spent 1 hour and 20 bucks learning about how and why couplers work after breaking 3 of them first. Bought an eprom ecu and turboback system off ebay and set up to have the eprom socketed and tuned this friday.

Couple pics so far today chasing electric gremlins

timming belt waterpump and oil change tomorrow then master cylinder proportioning valve and rear brakes next week:thumb:

These DSM 1G's are not like newer cars. Do not ever Jumper Cable your DSM 1G ever again. DO not even put a baatery chrager on it. I had a MD165529 ECU in my 90 TSI AWD and it feel flat on its face. decided to get teh Right one a MD145903

I keeped the Engine cranked up over the winter months and one day the battery was dyeing so I jumped it with my wife car and the damn thing would not start it just cranked its little life away with no spark.

So I sent my ECU MD145903 off to http://www.aesmodules.com and got it back and still no start. Called them back and found out how to do a CEL DVOM test and teh Processor is not communicating. So $316.00 bones more I sent it back to have a new processor put into the ECU.

Saving up my money to get the ECU from AEM Electronics - Wideband O2 UEGO, Water/Methanol, Stand Alone Engine Management, Piggyback F/IC, Tru Boost Controller, Gauges, Automotive Performance Electronics $1255.00 bones. I hope it is worth it. Does anyone else have this AEM Module for better setup?

Is the curcuitry more stable and not prone to jump starting?

Thanks

i bet you put the positive on before the negative... that WILL destroy your ECU... just FYI

on a seperate note: i just recieved my VIS hood and will be bolting that on tonight, i have some stop tech slotted rotors to put all the way around and a new koyo radiator... with hawk pads and a new wheel paint job, as well as a painting calipers yellow :)

also lizardman, you just need to go to ECMLink.com and buy an ECU from them... WAY cheaper then replacing a processor.. just replace the whole thing.. why in the world would you spend that much money on fixing a 20 year old computer..

http://www.ecmtuning.com/index.php?cPath=24&osCsid=2rhbjuf8im2r79vgd2qb67n6k3 245 bucks for a new EPROM ECU ready for DSMLink... you really cant beat it do your research and pick your parts wisely
