Been following your build for a good while..Excited to hear that you finally got to drive it! Congrats and good luck with getting it up to the standards of how you envision it
It really means a lot that you kept up with it man! I appreciate the support a ton! I wish I kept up better with my build thread but there was a point where some of the stuff I was doing wasn't really relevant to a more OEM+ build and I more so just got lost in digging in to get it finished (So I really just forgot to document/take pictures hahah). I may be on the younger side but I still hand write notes and slip it into a binder as the primary means of documentationROFL sometimes I wish I could do more to contribute to such a great community but I'm still so fresh in the game. Guess I'll just have to get a 1G and figure out how to build that too!!

I personally would love that. I appreciated how you documented what you did so much that would only be accentuated 100x for a 1G like mine and my mostly beginner level qualifications with an every-bolt-must-be-touched rebuild like mine. I may be hitting you up along with many others with questions when I finally get to putting mine back together! :D

Hopefully more people keep this trend going. I'm doing what I can to make it so you can store notes here in the build thread, but hand written binders are cool as hell.

Yeah dude im here for it! We can learn together man! I'm not super familiar with 1G stuff but man I would love to get there

It's honestly become a bad habit I think because I have one for every vehicle...even my motorcycle and I've been doing it since I was like 19 or 20...

A lot of old school car guys used to do this when restoring classic cars. It's cool when the binders are included in the sale of the car. Shows everything that was done.

Yeah man and that's what I do whenever I sell a vehicle. I like to be as transparent as possible and always offer the binder for them to keep with it

I got into cars during the heyday of forums (early 2000s) so I've always had build threads for my cars on the respective forum for that car. The modern equivalent of the binder, though more prone to getting lost if the site closes or Photobucket decides to change their business model, etc...

I drove the 90 Red Talon to the last All Wheels Night and everyone was asking me where the old Camaro was. I told them, it's at the house, I brought the little car.
I had 4 different vehicles come by this afternoon, all revving the piss out of there domestic stuff, so I went "Hunting". I had a newer Mustang come flying by the house ONE minute after I pulled in, so I went looking. He turned around and met me so he KNOWS I was HUNTING him now!
Pops

Here are the only pictures I have of the car that came by. Whipple Supercharged Mustang. Made some noise but.....well I went "looking" as I wasn't impressed or intimidated one bit. Hell I even need fresh E, as the knock sensor was pulling timing tonight. The Talon wouldn't have had any issues with a little fun.
My son said it had a set of nice size Slicks on the back when he checked it out at the car get together.

If I could have caught him, it would have been a WHIPPED Whipple. I tried.
I pulled the DSM out in front of the house to just show off. We have enuf cars to have our own car show so I may pull some others out there just for kicks.

He was scared and didn't want any. Thats why he threw you a rev and took off. 🤣

I pushed mine out of the garage and was doing some little tinkering yesterday.

There was not one, but TWO Mustangs that drove by and either revved, or punched it and started driving extremely fast the second they drove by my house.

It happens all the time here. I live on a paved road, but about 5 miles out of town. Vroom vroom but we don't mind and let them all have fun.

Mustangs don't do that to my house, only lifted trucks who all think they're fast.

So far I've caught every one of them and taken them to gapplebees. I've found it's the easiest way to get them to stop. After that they're real careful to just putt-putt by my house. And it's not even in the Talon that I've gaptized them either. They don't want any of that smoke.

I was looking at your times and you're doing great on the launch. Hell mine SUK and I motor out the back door at 128 but ETs are not there. Good job on practicing!

Yeah, I am not in any town, but right on a state route between to smaller cities. I've ran into people and started random convos and cars come up, and I say something about my 3000GT, and they are always like, "Dude I know your car. I drive by your house all the time."

I just laugh at the Mustang bro's. "I'm like dude, it doesn't even have a transmission and hasn't started in 7 years."

Once it's done I will definitely go hunting, and they will be sorry they ever thought they had a chance.

Finally fixed my ongoing ignition issues with my GTR coils. Silly me for assuming that I should run the type of spark plugs as the GTR when using the coils. Switched to a copper plug and it fixed all my issues. Most difficult part was ordering parts from the Honda dealer LOL.
Was running bkr8eix to Honda part number "98079-5814E". Never again will I try iridium plugs.

NGK BP8ES for me in the 2 cars with higher boost.

Thanks Marty! Definitely been working on the driver mod. Once I get the engine compression right and it actually running on more than 100psi of compression, I'll hopefully be able to squeeze more performance out of it than what I would've been able to accomplish before.

I darn near pooped myself this past weekend on the 2nd tuning drive (same for the guy that was riding with me to watch the log. He has a 2g as well). The first run went super well! Sent the log to Kevin, and he made some adjustments, then we took the car out again for another log. Maaaannn that thing hit 25lbs of boost in second gear, and thank goodness we were on the part of the road we were. Long story short, had to order metal, barbed fittings for the WG vacuum lines, and get a new coupler clamp because it didn't hold one of the pipes enough to keep it from blowing out the coupler.

Now I just need to install those new fittings, the new clamp, do an oil change, and check the torque of the headstuds, and we are ready for another tuning run! All I can think about day in and day out is when I can drive the car again!
