Seal cutter? What witchcraft is this?
I had no idea about this at the time when I was taking my oil pan off (but this is at the very very start of the build with the initial tear down) and when I was looking through to see the specs for putting it on I was taken back a bit. I just thought to myself how "of course this is a thing because not everyone out there just sits back and says yeah I'll wedge some wood in the seal to break it" like I did. Of course the manufacturer is going to create a tool for it or someone would but I did laugh at myself thinking back to taking the pan offJust one of those ways we can tell who's read the manual or not.

Ive bought a few special tools just for the DSM platform. This is one of my favoritesA dealership's shop was full of special tools to do tasks by the book. Sometimes you didn't have any choice but to buy the special tools but usually those not working for the dealerships would improvise and as mentioned looking around for something thin and strong to use to cut the seal leads to razor blades, xacto knives, and putty knives to do the seal cutter's job. Or grinding a socket to make a castle nut wrench.

.Lots of cars have wind-in rear caliper pistons. Pretty much every car with integral parking brakes. I use the same tool that I bought for my Mk1 MR2.
Nissans make all 4 corners a breeze... if it wouldnt cost so much Id brembo my 1g.My edge has them as well. But it also has electric motors(for the parking brake) that winds the piston of the whole caliper fully shut for you so you can actually just push it back by hand when you put it into maintenance mode.
Still in love with Ford because of that.

Should work just fine for you as long as you have a way to tune. I've heard nothing but good things about fuel injector clinic.I got the same set going in. Definitely curious how they'll work for you
A bolt and clamp will hold fine. No need for any rtv or sealantMocked this up. Trying to decide if i cap the coolant line that doesnt do anything now that ran to throttlebody and if so if a bolt and clamp inside a short hose will do the trick

I've run FIC for over a decade but I think my low-z 750s which I'm coming off of were causing me low pulse width issues around 3000-3500rpm and creating weird islands in my VE table. Didn't matter if on a 1g or cyclone manifold. I've been on link for many years.
I just mean how linear they respond compared to what I've dealt with.

Yes it would work or just go to a local store and grab a 5/8 and 3/8 coolant line cap.Mocked this up. Trying to decide if i cap the coolant line that doesnt do anything now that ran to throttlebody and if so if a bolt and clamp inside a short hose will do the trick

Just take your time and try to get it to go through the back end. (After the 15min) Yeah it can be a minor hassle but in the end you'll know it's done by the book. Tbh, I think it should be fine. But 95% of the guys on here will recommend you to just do it "right".Another huge leap forward for me on the build in getting the timing belt on. I think I depressed the tensioner just a liiiittllee too much. I can slide it in and out fine but cant get it to slide into the back hole of the tensioner body. Should be fine? Of note there is that I just did do the 6 rotations so it's still got 15 min to relax and I'll double check it

Yeah and I am trying to get it as by the book as possible due to this being my first DSM and engine rebuild so I'm trying to make troubleshooting easier if need be down the road hahaha (but I'm really hoping that I don't have to). I feel that it should be okay but I will revisit the pin tomorrow and see what it looks likeJust take your time and try to get it to go through the back end.
