whats the gain by swapping? same compressor wheel and cover, only difference is the turbine housing. yea you definitely have some leaks LOL. I was seeing that by 3k easily, and 25 or more by 3500 in 3rd, on my homemade manifold. had the same issue at first though. I warped the flanges when I welded it together so had to plane it pretty good. porting the housing smooth down into the throat really helped too. dropped at least 200 off spool

more power. Little less spool maybe, more top end though. plus my current turbo may be the issue. Its off a wreck so it might be, warped idk. I will probably port the new housing as well. And its a mint turbo where as mine was kinda unknown with minor play.

Yea mine is the 10.5cm housing. Wasnt sure what it came off of though. You should be able to play around and get your spool down pretty low. At 18 psi i was making good power. I finally found out what happened to my engine. Snapped the #2 rod bolts, which in turn took out the #1 rod before shooting the block and scattering across the highway LOL

Really? Thats strange because the 64 this turbo kit was on b4 also snapped a,rod bolt in the end. Might change some hardware before I push this too hard. Dont want to window my first build, its been treating me really good so far

Seriously though, swapping to a better intercooler got me to ~20psi and 6-7* peak timing. Swapping to E85 allowed for 28psi and 17-18* peak timing. Not an ounce of knock. :cool:

Today I'll be mocking up my HX40 setup! The .55 BEP housing should be here soon, so I can start figuring out fitment. I'm hoping I can keep at least one stock fan. My Speed Density bundle will be here too. Which reminds me that my new MacBook won't connect to Link. :banghead:

Damn that sucks. It is sweet. Those turbos are capable of 400 hp. Yea wes im waiting to see this thing in action!

Mj hell yea man i would. Only thing is, i read somewhere that you have to get your rods rebored after swapping to arps. Is this true?

Funny I'm just getting rid of my .55 ar. You won't be happy with it for too long LOL. I would run e85 if it was available close by i kept the big stock fan on my over sized koto rad but had to trim it a bit. No room for the AC fan. .70 Ar bep t3 today!!! Woohoo and flanges for my custom sch40 heavy ass manifold!

As far as your link not connecting. Make sure your security settings allow for the application to run. Make sure everything is up to date. I can help you out if your having problems. I was a apple

Thats around what i want to do on an hx35, but i was talking about an evo 8 16g LOL, which is what i have right now. Im hoping that by the time i get ready for the holset, fp will be selling thir bolton housings

i guess this doesn't count as what i did today....... but last week i got the mishimoto rad in and dressed up the engine bay a little bit and fixed some coolant leaks!.......what do y'all think?

I think it'll do good for now. I'll be shocked if I can't squeeze out 500hp. I'm really excited to see the how this turbo acts. The compressor is an 8-blade, but with a 60mm inducer like the 6 and 7 blade. So I'm not sure what to expect for airflow. With my luck I'll see full boost at 5k and produce 40 lb/min. LOL

My problem with Link isn't that it won't run, the com port settings are just crazy. It thinks I'm trying to connect to Bluetooth? Idk, here's what I mean.

Change initial port to serial usb. Install drivers also if you havent. If you have try reinstalling and removing all previous configurations. Sadly if you have to do that you'll be spending some time setting up your sensors to the computer like you initially did and change all your displayed and captured values. You won't get 500 on pump LOL but def on race gas. I'm on 28psi on my 7 blade and i see that by 4200. I'm shooting for 9s and cracked mahles this year with the .70 AR T3 housing which im waiting to arrive from ups right now. hahaha then i go to ross.
 
^ The "Bluetooth-Modem" port is my only option...LOL I'll try downloading some of the other drivers though.

And I'll be running E85, and I mean actual 85% Ethanol. That should make it a little easier. :D
