What did my 4g63 come out of?

I recently have purchased my first DSM and for the life of me I cannot find out what sort of or what this engine came out of. Vin on the block and transmission is KF5M3325PZTVR0647 the car is a 1998 Eclipse GST. Any help is much appreciated!

Check the end of the cylinder head above the thermostat housing, it should be stamped, G6K - 4 or G6K -5 code for an evo 3 head.

if it is an evo 3 engine i would wonder why the previous owner took all the evo 3 bits off of it, I see mostly stock 2g components on it, I guess they could have parted it out and people were buying the jdm evo goodies, then he put stock 2g bits on it to sell it... There also is the possibility that the engine was replaced under warranty by Mitsubishi, they have no vins on the oem replacement blocks.
I bought this head years ago off of a guy on the internet G6k-2 = Evo1.

Does yours have the same size studs in all exhaust ports like mine? I didn't know that there were only 5000 Evo1 made.

Sounds like an Evo1 head, that turbo does not look like my Evo3 turbo at all, I'm not sure what the other Evo turbo's look like, although that looks newer to me.

A guy from 1g2g eclipse group on Facebook seems to think it’s off a RVR
Post number 9:

I would sooner trust these guys that have done research on the subject over some random person on Facebook.

Mine has two m10 studs on the outside and evo 1-3 all list to use the larger m10 outside bolts according to megazip, but maybe different evo 1 models used all m8 exhaust fasteners like the rs etc. Do we have a post documenting head ID numbers on tuners? i have a few that id be willing to share/document the info on, i mean i know theres a ton of identify my cylinder head posts on here, but no dedicated post, that i have found as of yet bogussvo, made some great posts like camshafts etc, would love to see a cylinder head identification post made in the same format, solely for head pictures and id numbers refferenced with year make and model etc.

Put a borescope down a sparkplug hole and get a look at the top of the piston for any #'s for identification.
