I went out for a quick drive to test out a new ecu and got back to the house, opened the hood to adjust the idle, and saw coolant bubbling from the top of the radiator, check it out :( It's like a hairline crack along the very top ... !@#$!@#

Let the coolant out a little bit, then sand the crack, clean it with rubbing alcohol, and use some JB Weld on that sumbitch. Done and Done. Little cheaper than a Fluidyne.

make shure you let the jb weld fully cure b4 driving the car so do it at night or when you not driveing i had the same probleom in the end i just had to get a new radiator

Yeah, I'm gonna replace it with an all-metal one :) .. was going to pull it anyway to install a FMIC .. it's wierd, looking closer at the top of the radiator it's like the plastic has a "grain" to it, and the crack is along that grain.

I ended up going with a Fluidyne on my 92 TSI. The stock rad was leaky around the end tanks. I was going to orginally buy a GDI rad which I think it had metal tanks, but the damn core was twisted....so I said screw it and bought a Fluidyne.
