Do they eliminate wheelhop? Cause more vibrations? Possibly put more power to the wheels? I see almost everyone with prothane then stock motor mounts these days so they must do something special for our cars LOL

Less wheel hop and more power actually making it to the wheels.

Damn I just noticed you have AWD. My bad.

Got mine because the factory ones were trashed even my discount at the dealer i wasnt going to spend over 100 bucks on the drivers side.

Yep my passenger was shot, and the engine was out of the car anyway, so why not, nice to know someone who will press them in for freee. I'll be keeping them when i get my awd one day.

They don't completely eliminate wheelhop, but they've been known to help. They also help reduce engine roll at the expense of a little more vibration. And as Victor pointed out, urethane always outlives the factory rubber that is known to crack over time.

Hmmm so is it worth upgrading to prothane mounts then? I heard they put more power to the wheels? whats better polyurethane or prothane motor mounts?

Is suggesting WindoWeld a bad thing these days? ;)

The benefits are- less wheel hop, better power to ground transfer, better throttle response (the motor doesn't flex as much), and also it improves shifting since the trans/engine don't sag (which isn't a problem with good motor mounts, but prothanes improve this).

i had prothanes on my car and i didnt like them.. car vibrated to much. i put the stock mounts on. and now it feels stock smooth..

Automatics are going to suffer the most from vibration, manual isn't too bad.

Most of us shouldn't even worry, idle surge fixes the vibrations. ROFL

It feels stock because you switched back to stock mounts or did you switch to a different brand Poly mount?

i put back on the stock motor mounts. ands its manual. . i really dont like any vibrations in a car.. i just want it to float like a butterfly and spool up like a dsm.

OEM or OEM equivalents?

My RockAuto mounts suck the big one. ~9 months and they're shot. My engine dances like a ballerina atm.

Theres no denying the differences though. A higher horsepower car's engine will move a LOT more with stock mounts as opposed to poly. If you are stock, there is no point to putting polys in there, especially if you have the bs removed.

its not stock. i only put oem (advance auto parts) on the side motor mount and tranny mount. kept the rear and front motor mounts prothane..

i got poly mounts and love them. had them put on 3 weeks after i bought my car. vibration isnt that bad to me. then again the car needed mounts when i bought it. so i guess i dont really know what stock mounts feel like LOL. however, as i stated before, the vibrations i feel isnt that bad at all. maybe i will notice a difference when i have the bushings installed. but as far as im concerned, there great

Once the BS is removed, you will notice/feel the poly mounts. I do not regret getting the mounts. If your car vibrates too much, which mine did, I drilled some holes on the t-belt side mount to reduce the stiffness.

Now that's a gd idea I think. How many holes and where did u drill them?

Not sure, I drilled circular before the stepped side on the mount. Probably around 8. It's still pretty stiff, car still vibrates, but it doesn't vibrate the rear view mirror anymore. Makes the car a lot more street friendly.

Ive got a set in mine with no balance shafts. Ride quality isnt near as bad as I thought it would be. I never noticed a difference.
