weld center diff without pulling trans?

hey guys I know that this is kind of a stupid question but I cant find an answer. can you pull the center diff without pulling the transmission. ive been thinking about welding it for a while but I thought it may be fun to try it without pulling it from the car. also if it is possible, my transmission is brand new but pops out of first on heavy decell. could I fix that when im in there? thanks guys

Pull & rebuild, the diff isn't accessible with the trans in the car. Sounds like there's a bearing gone anyway.

Unless you have crazy car magic, I don't see you getting inside the trans to do any type of major work while it's in the car.

With the tools needed it shouldn't take more then 30-45 minutes to drop the tranmission so you can do what you need to properly.

If your car is auto, yes. If it is 5spd, no.

It's five speed but I'm not worried bout it popping out but I just was wondering if I pulled the axle on the one side and all of the suspension components if I could pull the two cases to get at the diff. I'm not actually going to do it because it's my dd but it would be cool to see what happens

You CAN pull the center diff while the transmission is still in the car, there is a vfaq showing how its done

It does sound like you have some sort of issue going on though since it pops out of first gear.
