Welded Center Diff.

I want to buy this GSX from this guy and I learned that he has welded the center diff. cause he broke it by dropping the clutch (ACT2600) at 5500RPM. Should I be worried, or should the center diff be fine now that it is welded?

alot of ppl i know run with welded center difs one is even running rwd in his 1g but he would not recomend doing runing it rwd in less you want to break stuff hes just doing it for a week or to and dyno day

If you drive alot I would not do it. You can not turn very sharp it tears up your tires. It is like a break at slow speeds when turning. Also If you break something sorry it is a dsm. When you break somthing you will not like pushing it. It takes three people to push my car at the track.

i also have mine welded and mine is my daily driver but i didnt know it tears up the tires i could feel it griping/hoping when turning at low speeds. and i have an awd it only takes me to push my car when i had to bump start it and i had to push it back about 20 ft then up a small hill about 4 ft and im only 130lbs 6ft i dont see why it would take 3 ppl to push a dsm

a friend rebuilt my trans for me and i had him put a welded center diff in it. i was searching around on the forums to see if everyone else was having the same horrible driving issues that i am with it. I literally have to drive it like a semi, WIDE turns, tires just slipping all over the place in the back. but the reason i did this was because i couldnt afford the 4 spider upgrade and my trans broke because those washers broke apart in the diff and chewed everything up.

If your worried about it being reliable, it is. Just like a lot of mods to our cars, it just takes away from the "comfort level" of daily driving. With the wheels straight, it's not too bad to push, and once you get the car rolling it's not that bad while pushing either. While you are driving, you will mainly notice a "discomfort" in trying to turn in lower speed tight corners, like a u-turn, or turning around in a parking lot. It's an upgrade, so view it like that when you are purchasing the car.
