Alright, I KNOW what everyone has said about swapping tires with an AWD and I have read through quite a few pages but I havent found an answer to my specific question yet.

Long story short, I want my 17's from my GS-T I'm selling to my AWD but I have about 50-75% tread left on my front tires while my rears have about 90%. The reason my situation is different is because I have a welded center diff, does this mean that the tire size difference won't matter as much? Also if I was to switch the rims/tires out should I put the 2 front tires on one side of the AWD or match them up front to back? Will I still burn my VC if my center diff is welded(or do I even still have one in there LOL) ?

Different size tires on an AWD cause the viscous coupling to fail because it has to continuously slip to keep the tires from slipping. With a welded center differential the tires will slip continuously as one pair will be trying to go a different speed from the other.

If you put the larger tires on the right side your car should be very good at making left turns.

No matter where you put the tires, your gonna get Driveline wind-up. If you put a bigger tire on one side, then you are gonna be constantly turning the pinion gears in the front and rear diff and eventually overheat them. I would not recomend it, however it is up to your descresion weather there close enough to put on or not. You can get away with a little difference.
