so i replaced the alternator(autozone Reman) when i pulled the head

and then about a week later i replace the battery too

so the issue is

when im driving for about 15min the low battery volt light starts blinking, and the volt gauge drops(dsmlink changes the stock boost gauge to volts)

then it the volts will go back up and be fine for a few min then go back to low voltage, and it will keep going back and forth,

i removed the neg. battery cable when the car was idling and it did not die, but the volt meter gauge dropped, and my HID's kinda flickered.
but when i pulled the neg. cable the charging system was not acting up

any ideas?

i think it is the alternator, but it did not happen until a few days after i replaced the battery

Ive read alot of people getting junk alts from Autozone and other similar parts stores. Id bet its the alt. If you pull it and have it tested at a parts store or shop it will probably show good. Since It only acts up after the car is warmed up a bit the regulator is probably a sub standard unit that cannot handle the heat.

Double check you connections at the battery. Make sure they can handle a solid tug and not move.
yea thats the first thing i checked, i will recheck them LOL

wen i had a honda i got a alt from pep boys and it acted up it tested good but didnt charge the batt wen car was running and also wen i had a galant the same thing i would change the alt from exp and check the conn as he said

yea i am gunna take it off and get it tested, ill probably

I bet it turns out to be the voltage regulator.

Is the voltage regulator in the alternator or is a separate unit? In the ECU itself? Need direction. Battery good, alternator checked out good. Just not charging. Car starts up fine but battery not charging. Im starting to think that its a grounding problem with the alternator. How would I check the alternator if it is grounded properly? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
