I did a search on this but wasn't able to find anything. A little background, the car sat in a field for 6 years and the alternator harness was chewed up by field mice. I got it all buttoned back up and got the car started but now I am having the issue.I also had to replace the battery, so that is new.
The issue is no charging when the alternator fuse is plugged in. If I disconnect the harness, I get 16-17 volts (I know this is an issue as well), but as soon as I plug the fuse in and re-start the car, I run off of the battery. Things that I thought of were, wrong wires connected to new harness connectors. I verified that my power steering pressure switch wire is continuous to the ecu (pin5). When doing this, I also checked the regulator wires (I assume that's what they are) and one was continuous to my airflow wire (pin3) which has been snipped for an AFC install. What is very confusing for me, is the voltage coming out of the alt until its connected to the battery.
Any insight that someone could provide would be awesome.
Thanks,
TJ
