Very weird radio problem

I have an aftermarket sony xplod radio. It seems to be pretty old (not a cd player). The only thing it does is play radio. My problem is that i cant hear the radio! When i click buttons I can hear the beeping sound it makes. The speakers must be working, considering i can hear that beeping through the speakers. My antenna is plugged into the radio and into the antenna. I haven't followed the wire to make sure that it isnt ripped or broken. Could something else be causing this to happen? Is there such thing as an antenna going bad? Shouldnt i be hearing static or something?

try switching radios with a know good one and see if it works. the radio it self might just be bad.

Im thinking that is the problem. I dont have any kind of radio around to check. Looks like i will have to deal with it until I buy another radio or tv.

Bump. I know you said try another radio but i dont have one laying around and I don't want to spend the money on one if i do not need to. I am wanting to upgrade to a tv soon but i do not have the money yet. Has anyone else had such a problem.

I had the same problem. Switched to a 97 radio and it works great. The radio is most likely bad

O darn. It is just weird that i can hear the click through the speakers but no radio.
