Wideband & Car Radio problem?

Help please! 98 gsx, I got it back from the shop finally ... Everything is running good but my radio was dead so I took it out and checked the back everything was hooked up. So I unpluged the wires and power from radio checked the fuse in the back and it was fine also. But when I hooked everything back up. I heard a sound from the radio like a CD was being ejected... Turn it around to look and it was still dead. Then I look at my wideband and it was dead also.


Did I short something out? any suggestions? thanks!

It sounds like they wired your wideband into your power for the radio. Check the lower left driver side kick panel fusebox and find the radio fuse. Look and see if they spliced a wire or tapped the fuse for the wideband. If so you might need to take the wideband off that circuit and put it on it's own or another 12v switched source.

A squirrel (referring to me) finds a nut every once in awhile. I know what you mean about the heat, I am in Florida and the heat with humidity makes it miserable to work on the car.
Did you end up putting your wideband on it's on fuse? If it was on the same circuit as the radio you might be drawing to much current and you could blow the fuse again.
My local auto parts store had this fuse with a wire coming out and I put it in one of the empty slots. The wire then had power when the vehicle was switched on/running and had it's on fuse in the fuse box. Made for a really clean install.
Can't help you much for the a/c, I have only done compressors and dryers...

It's all good! They were wired together. so, I separated them and found the fuse you were talking about at auto zone, reground the wideband and put in a open slot in fuse box.... It works good now! So thanks buddy...
