The old trusty Mosin Nangant. WWII sniper Rifle carried by the russian military.

You can buy one of these for $120 with cheap surplus rounds! This thing can drop a Bear from 1000 yards no problem! Its a beast.

Still the best bang for the buck. The fun part is hitting 2 pounds of Tannerite exploding targets with this thing!!! Talk about some Fun!

I got one from a local gun store for 80.00, put the Monte Carlo stock on it and sight rail/scope and picked up a bore laser. Got about 300 in it and it out shoots all my friends rifles. The thing is a ace.

But, I just popped in here to say my super tuck holster came in from cross bread. So I’m braking it in for the next week or so!! It’s so comfy.

My brother bought two of these. I think he paid around $400-$500 for the two plus like 900 rounds of ammo. The ammo came in some massive tins, we had to cut them open with tin snips cause we didn't have tools to open the tins. And they had been in some russian storage area for years. So we had to completely break them down and clean all the crap off of them. They are stored with some thick goo on them to prevent them from rusting.

Anyways, once we had them all cleaned up, we took them out and shot them. Those things are freakin beasts. They were dead accurate. My shoulder got sore as shit.

Haha, yeah. I would love to have another one, and I only have a few boxes of ammo at the moment. Buy everytime I go to Wal Mart I buy a box. Eventually I will have a good stash.

screw walmart. they are anti gun plus that ammo is cheaper in a bulk buy of 500 or 1000 rounds

its called cosmoline and the easiest and best way to remove it is with a 20 buck tile steam cleaner. just open the bolt and start steam cleaning the gun and it will pull the cosmoline out of everything. just keep wiping everything off as it leaks out of the gun.

once it stops leaking out of everything just a quick oiling and its all set. it will continue to seap out of the wood the first couple times it warms up from shooting

^ Yup! I always buy in at least lots of 500.

I have a bit over 2k for my La Rue currently, but only 500 for the .45

Need to stock up a bit but had to spend some money on other things :(

Yeah, we actually broke them all down and soaked every metal part in mineral spirits and cleaned them up. Then we oiled everything. And put them back together. And yeah, the crap came out of the wood. It was a hot ass day and we were shooting all day.

I heard one trick for getting the cosmoline out was to put the gun in a black trash bag, twist tie the top and let is sit upright in the sun for a few hours. :)

I MAY end up putting that E-series on layaway for the next year and just make 100 dollar payments each month. :)

problem with all the stuff with plastic bags and cosmoline is it heats up and then cools off and sticks back on everything. and the put it in kitty litter in the trunk only gets the wet stuff off the outside.

the steam cleaner leaves the gun clean. dry and ready for use in about an hour.

you will like the e series alot definitely dont wait. for that price i would hate to hear you missed it and cant get another for some time

Yeah, that is another way to do it. But we wanted to break the guns down so we could look them over and make sure everything was in good shape. Plus that method isn't the best like 3kgt2nv said.

I don't know how I would feel about using a steam cleaner on a gun though. I guess if it works. But then again. I wouldn't want to have water in my rifle.

because its steam the gun is almost totally dry. its why the gun gets oiled afterwords. you dont think the main battle rifle for the russian army for almost 50 years never saw any rain or snow.

plus an added side effect of steaming the stock is it will remove small dents and dings from the stock and removes some of the dirt that is stuck in the grain of the wood.

i used to have a video and it might still be on youtube of people cleaning 1903a3 rifles like this.

Oh, I wasn't necessarily saying it's a bad method. I'm just saying I don't feel comfortable blowing steam into my guns. I know they occasionally get rained on. But I don't intentionally introduce water to them. Either way, if they're oiled once done they should be good. I just personally don't like that idea.

they are nice but make me scrunch up like a old woman to shoot it. need something with a longer frame for me to be comfortable with it.

they are kinda nice though. i played with a super v in texas when visiting my brother a few months ago

I went to the gun store where I bought my XDM and asked for a price on that 1911 E-series.

$765+tax. And they have 10 month layaway.

I'm about to do the "put it on layaway and don't tell the girlfriend" thing. But she wants me to get an Evo first.

*Sigh*

I'd take a firearm over vagina any day of the week, Boxxy.

the evo isnt going to help when the zombie apocalypse happens

and my gun takes your evo. LOL

seriously 10 month lay away. thats like 80 bucks a month. if you cant swing that and an evo you arent going to be able to afford the evo either.

It's torture, but I'm going to wait till I get my better job once college is done. Or tax returns next year. Whichever comes first.

Maybe I'll just put it on layaway in December for Christmas, then pay it off when tax returns come in. I like that plan, actually. :)

Once I get my new job, making payments on an Evo won't be an issue. :)

I bought this bad boy yesterday. Smith & Wesson SD9

Mossberg 500 12 guage
Custom RRA AR-15

Hey i have a question. I want to powder coat my barrel on my modified mosin nagant a gloss back or machine grey. Do you think it will warp or hurt the barrel to cook at 400* for 25min?
