No. but Z-Max is sorta expensive! I use the Critical Defense stuff from them.

For some reason, Z-Max is $1 cheaper than the Critical Defense per box here. I already have 2 boxes in. 40S&W and. 223 respectively for my other toys that go bang. If only they made it in. 22LR I'd be all set.

I figure my 1911 will be on layaway for less than 4 months before I can't stand it anymore and walk in with my credit cards a-blazin'.

ammo is not bad and they will reload it for you for 12 a box if you dont reload. ammo is pretty available. just the guns are impossible to get.

YES, I love this gun! My brother actually got one and has been letting me carry it to see if I like it. Its grate! Holds 7 rounds of 45acp.



Need help quick. I'm picking up some night sights for my XD .45. I know how bad ass the Trijicon are and they are around 115 bucks. I'm looking at thease MEPROLIGHT for about 90 bucks. All the reviews i have read say they are better than the trijicon's. And are used buy more police forces due to quality. Any help on either of these as to which one to buy? I am going to do green because I have read they light up the best.

I use the Heinie Straight Eights on my XD. They are built tough and use vertical tritium dots. Very quick to line up in low light, much more so than horizontal dots. They also offer them in SlantPro format.

Trijicon and Mepro are okay, but I will never go back to them. I actually bent a Trijicon front post, but crazier shit can happen when you're training hard.

Be advised that swapping out sights on an XD platform is a gigantic pain in the ass. The stock ones are pressfit in.

Those are neat. I will into them. I figured they would be a pain to put in regardless which I go with. I need to order a new guide rod and at the same time. Friend of mine dropped it and put a ding in the end of it. Still works fine. I’ll have the gunsmith install the sights. It’s nice, there is a indoor range about 10min from my place to sight things in. I also want to get a laser for it but don’t want to buy a new holster. I use the crossbreed super tuck.

PISTOLGEAR | YOUR ONE-STOP SHOP FOR ALL THINGS PISTOL XD stuff. I bought a solid tungsten Guide Rod from them a while back, my .45 feels like a 9mm now (recoil wise).

Also, check out http://shop.springerprecision.com/ they make some nice stuff for XD's too, I love their trigger setup.

Agreed on the solid guide rod. Leet's a baller and can afford the tungsten. I just went for a Don's Guide Rods Stainless Steel one. Works fine, looks awesome. It would probably look a lot better if I got a polished barrel to go with it. Maybe if I get a 9mm conversion barrel.....

*sigh* This gun-grab craze is getting damn depressing. There are NO normal capacity XDM magazines available online anywhere. Same goes for 25-rd S&W M&P 15-22 mags. Supposedly cheaper than dirt canceled people's orders for AR15 PMags which they had purchased for 12-14 bucks, said they were backordered, but gave links to some identical Pmags on their site which were available, but they cost $59.99. In other words, price gouging. They're not the only ones, but yeah... it's getting depressing. I don't even have an AR15 and I'm angry about it. I'm going to check a few local shops tomorrow and see if I can find anything.

I've never bought from them before, but as soon as I heard that story, I knew I never would in the future. Someone said their M14 mags were selling for $70 a piece or something.

Today, I went to Gander Mountain and bought the last 25-rd magazine for my M&P 15-22 that they had. They had NO mags for my XDM 40. The only XD mags they had were for standard XD's and of the 12-rd and under variety. .223/5.56 ammo does not exist in the three sporting goods stores I visited. .22LR of all sorts are also AWOL. Oddly, pistol ammunition hasn't really been affected that I can tell. Just for fun, I bought some CCI quiet .22LR and shot a few of those out the window into the back yard just to see how quiet they are. They're not quite as quiet as I'd like them to be, but if I get a suppressor next year, I think they'll be fantastic. Still, there's no sonic crack to them, which is nice on the ears. Also bought another box of .45ACP for the 1911 that I'll never see.
