Put a few rounds through my daily carry today. I really do love this Ruger SR9c. This is about the 5th carry gun I have had and so far the best on about every level.

any felonys, domestic violence, or any past mental issues(insane or "special")

No felonies, domestic violence, violence of any kind, no dui's.Just stupid misdameanor, teenage crap.Nothing but traffic tickets since 2004.

Mental illness.Depending on the definition, yes and no.

In Alabama the requirements to get a CCW is: 21 years old, no felonies, no arrests of domestic violence, no dishonorable discharge and you just fill out the paperwork and a week later you go and pick up your ccw.

Bama is an OC state too, if you don't have a ccw permit don't let your shirt cover the weapon and don't get into a car because they consider that concealed.

When the F did you move to bama?

We have OC here too, but it depends on what city you go into. They may have a ordinance against it.Like my town, but I have never seen anyone get a ticket for it.Now with CC,Nobody would even know If you have one.So If you plan on holding somehting up in this state. You better make sure the store is empty.LOL

Mississippi found a way to violate our constitutional rights by claiming a holster is "concealing" the weapon. They even went as far as saying that fastening it to a clip and hanging it from a belt "concealed" the back side of the weapon. Yes.. In MS you need invisible legs to OC. Sounds reasonable enough right? That ranks right up there with the fat acceptance movement.

And when the gun is in your hand, pointed at the bad guy, the grip is concealed inside your palm, right? :)

I moved here in the Summer of '09.

I'm not a big fan of OC because people are stupid. In Alabama it's legal as long as your shirt doesn't cover it in any way, shape, or form, or get into a car with it. You don't need a permit to OC but it's a bi*** because people will flip if they see you OC.

I 99% of the time CC .

O I agree 100%. I will CC when i obtain my permit to do so. I was just stating that our constitution doesn't mean much these days. Its all about translation and interpretation. Also I will confirm that 99% of people will flip their shit if they see someone OC. Hurrrr guns R bAd DuuuRrrrr...

Bama is the same way, half if not more of the police don't know our own OC laws. We get harassed all the time by cops telling us it's illegal when they see people OCing.

Just picked this puppy up in a trade. ;)

Bushmaster XM15-E2S
223 - 5.56 Rounds
1/9 Twist

Love these guns. I've had one in the past - They handle great. I've never encountered a jam with my previous one or this one. Took it out to the local range yesterday and put 60 rounds through it. No issues, started to want to tug to the right on the shots once it got warmed up (might have been me), but it didn't disappoint.

Not sure if I enjoy the scope. It's just a little too dark for my taste. I still have the stock Handle/Sight so I might switch it back if I decide to keep it. I have no practical use for this thing (besides a zombie infestations. PERFECT for that scenario. :p) so it might be sold.

3kGT2NV, can you repost the pic of your Christensen Arms 1911?

I have recently decided that I MUST own a Smith & Wesson 1911 E-series, full size. They have the fish-scale serrations, similar to your Christensen Arms one, if I remember what it looks like correctly. I've held a few of the S&W's in a few gun shops and they feel more comfortable in my hand than any other handgun I've ever held. I've even entertained the notion of trading in my Springfield XDM for credit towards one, but the jury is still out on that decision.

the s&w is a single cut layer where the christensen is a tri cut. i have played with the s&w and it felt good but the cut on the christensen is an amazingly unique feel and is a unique style also.

the s&w is nice i almost bought an e series but for the price i would also suggest doing some serious looking at a springfield trp and a dan wesson. Also look for one used as i have seen the s&w 1911's not hold up on the used price as they are more known for their revolvers. The one i almost picked up was 825 used with no wear on the barrel which suggests almost no shots fired where they go for about 1150ish new

would post a pic of my dan wesson razor but my delivery date is in 2013 since they only make 50 per year

Sorry? Pfft. For one of the most reliable guns in the world you have nothing to be sorry about.

sure there is something to be sorry about. he didnt get 2 and a couple thousand rounds of ammo for them ;)

congrats.

fun shooting guns that love to chew thru ammo no matter what. great all around rifle.

I love this thread, makes me feel at home. :thumb:

ETA: I'm on page one, many years ago! :D

I guess there is quite a difference between the Christensen slide serrations and the S&W. I knew they were close, but yeah, definitely a difference. Thanks for reposting the pic. :) I know I'll be looking around at some of the others (The TRP caught my eye), but the E-series just calls to me for some reason. The one shop that had one in stock, same as pictured above, wanted around 900 for it. There's another shop I haven't been to yet, where I bought my XDM, and I know they can match or beat that price with no problem. The large sporting goods store where I bought my rifles had an E-series with an ambi-saftey and night sights, and they wanted nearly 1200 for it. It'll still be a while before I can actually make the purchase, so hopefully by then I'll find a good used one.

if its in stock talk about putting a deposit on it. right now like nothing is availible to shops and as stuff sells out they are having a hard time getting alot of stuff back in.

ruger has stopped accepting new orders as of march of this year because of how many back orders they have and alot of other companies are in the same position. 900 new for it is good since gun broker which is usually one of the cheaper places are all in the 1000-1150 range for them depending on options

the slide serrations on it are the same as the m&p i was looking at them both today at the lgs
