Water drops falling on the inside drivers footwell area

Okay here it goes. Not sure if anyone has ever complained about this kind of problem. Scenario is that we have been getting allot of rain here in the South the past few days in a row. As I went for a drive to the store the following morning, I had noticed when I applied the brakes that water dripped on my foot. I had river sandals on so I felt down and smelled it to make sure it was not antifreeze. To my dismay it was just plain rain water. The few times I would apply the brakes a little more water dropped on my foot. The door seals are not leaking, both the inner one and outer door seals are secure. I have ran the garden hose across the door seals and they are secure. I cannot tell if maybe there might be a leak somewhere around the bottom half of the front windshield.

Has someone else have water in the drivers side floor after it has rained? Not quite sure which way to go about the next step. I have already ruled out all the usual causes of this kind of problem. Any suggestions would be greatly and kindly appreciated!

The cowl area is where I found mine, I removed the plast trim that covers it and where the cowl meets firewall I had a pin hole.

No sunroof, sorry forgot to mention that, now the Cowl area; I almost forgot about area. Thank You for mentioning it! The Cowl area would definitely narrow it down to that area. Looks like I have some exploring to do. Today was another rainy day so I parked the car on an incline, came out for lunch and there was water again. When I got back from lunch this time I parked the car at the opposite angle of incline. Leave from work and water in the floor board.

Since it doesn't make any difference of an incline angle in either direction, I can now realize that the Cowl area would be the most likely place for this water to enter. I definitely need NEW Cowl vents so I am thinking now that I should have to replaced those last year but, I have been putting them off because replacements are hard to find. Water must be going down into the Cowl area into a collection pond by now with even more rain we are having right now. Thanks for the Tip! That at least gives me some idea to where to start.

Lol...Something tells me that the dealer will not have those "In Stock". =)

No definitely not, although if yours are not broken turtle wax makes a trim restorer that is awesome for plastic. The vents are not the issue the issue is most likely a pin hole in the rain gutters built into the cowl FYI. Remove the vents to see under them and use a small flashlight to inspect the whole area under the plastic.

i noticed i have the same.. it looks like its just condensation... it has been very wet and humid going from cold to hot and vise versa.. you guys think that it is just condensation or i have a pin hole somewhere as well?

You will notice it after it has rained. At first I thought it was coming from the vent inside and dripping down on my foot. After looking again today, I noticed that the water in the Cowl area was puddling, which means that a drain hole must be plugged or I have a rusted pin hole that had started to leak soon as the water started to collect and build up. I would check around the Cowl area first, that is the most likely spot to where water can enter and drip onto the drivers side floor. It had me stumped and if we would not have had allot of rain lately then I would have never known where the water was coming in from.

I had the same problem on my 95 AWD talon. I took the front wipers off and the wiper motor cover. and the vent on the passenger side next to the wiper motor had a huge mouse nest in it. This was collecting rain water and channeling it to inside the car. took the mouse nest out and stuck a vacuum in the vent and the leak was gone after that.
