Wasting my time with GST??? vs SRT-4

Like the title says, i need to know. Every night i go out i am running into a SRT-4 and getting ate up and spit out. I just recently bought a 14b for $50 (not installed). Is this going to help me at all compared to the 2.4L the neon has.I hate to be so newbie but this kids around here are everywhere and embarrising me with my T-25 (thats prob my #1 problem). I love my DSM dont get me wrong, but would i be spending more to try and keep up with these staged srt's than rather going out and buying one, which is more costly? I dont wanna start a big argument or anything, im just wanting to know what you guys are doing to your cars to out run these things. :dsm: Tony

Show me a gst running these kind of times and i'll appologize for questioning your authority. To all the others knocking the srt-4 for still being a neon, our gsx's counter parts are rs' and gs', with some of the 1st gen even coming with the less than desirable 1.8l NA. And my insurance still says economy car, not sports car for both my dsm's. I love the dsm's, for the money they can't be beat performance wise, and going fast is cheap. But as far as new cars are concerned, the SRT-4 is damn fast for damn cheap, and going faster is just as easy as our dsm's, and quite frankly most other factory turbo cars. I agree that the SRT's interior is low rent, but my eclipses are luxury cars either. I suppose to each his own. Just my .02

I personally love the srt-4...so much I bought one. I also drive a 91 talon tsi awd. Stock for stock the srt will decimate the talon from a roll AND from a stop.(with a good driver)

The Srt is an amazing car, but I feel What I run on the track is what I run on the street. Not so w/ the srt. I ran a best of 12.9 in my srt with a few bolt ons and slicks, but on the street I just blaze the tires.

So what have I decided to do..The srt is back bone stock, being daily driven, and I am investing my money into my AWD Talon.

And what's with all the 14b bashing? There's a dude on here who's in the 13s with a 14b in a GST on street tires.

My car ran 12.4 on the stock 14b.

True, on the street the race doesn't end at 1/4 mile, it ends when the person in front wants it to end. With a AWD you could just rip him off the line and wait untill he gets with in a car length of you then just cut it and you win. Oh and i have a 14b in my car and its quicker then my friends SRT4. :dsm:

I am very active in the SRT community, I go by "Scarface" on the srt forums. I dont think that 11's are possible for that low amount of money. Stage 1, MBC, wastegate, dump exhaust, NO2, and slicks might do it....but that list adds up to more than $650. If you know a secret let me know.

Sorry dude but I believe we can compare the prices of a DSM and an SRT-4. That of course is considering that we are looking at the cars in the present. Considering most of us have bought these cars used and not brand new. Hell my car was only $4300 after taxes, I'd like to see what kind of performance my car could have if I put as much as you guys have spent on your cars, I know for a fact my car would decimate yours. :thumb:

Too bad when the dsm's came out the were the same price as an srt-4 give them as long as dsm's have had and who knows what could happen. Im not gonna say anything else on this thread since people get butt hurt over the srt-4 in most forums lets just say I love dsm's and srt-4 and shall they romp on v-8's and hondas! as for decimating my car lngbrdr give me some 1/4 times and #'s?
 
sorry to hijack the thread but i would just get a low mileage supra turbo in my area for under 20k and woop everybody...heheh :p But really with the money my as well get a supra.

these supra's your talkin, must be shitty. hell you can't touch a decent supra around here for less then 40 grand and that is IF you could find one.
 
and one more comment... although i've seen some bad ass supras, i've seen an equal amount get there ass handed to them, but none of them by an srt4, go figure...

my .02 cents on the srt4. i took one by a car length with my gst and i can't hardly drive worth a shit. by the way, my girlfriend drives a neon, ghey!

Sorry dude but no 1/4 times or #'s simply because I don't have the kind of money you guys are just throwing around, remember I said if I had the kind of money you guys have spent my car would kill, and it would! I know when dsm's came out they were the same price as an srt-4 but again you are forgetting that my car is now a 10 y/o and your's is brand new so the prices are a little different. If you have the money go get an srt-4, I just laugh at the idea of owning a dang neon! :D
