I'm doing some porting on a 16G turbo that i'm about to install on my 91 Eclipse. I've ported the housing behind the wastegate flapper so that it can achieve a full 90deg.
The problem that i see is that the stk wastegate does not have enough travel to allow the flapper to go much past 45deg. I tried using a pressure pump on the wastegate to check the travel and it will not go any more.
I've done a search and only come up with how to do the porting to achieve the full travel, but nothing on what allows the gate to open enough.
Am i missing something? What do i do???

Your not missing anything, as you discovered the WGA can only move the wastegate arm so far. That's how it works.

Then why port so that the arm can achieve a full 90 deg if the wastegate can't travel that much? In my search i found countless posts and pic's about doing this, but nothing about the wastegate not having enough travel.
Is there a different wastegate option?
