My transmission started leaking a ton of oil. I pulled it apart and the pump bushing had spun and took out the seal. I believe this happened because bottom bellhousing bolts had loosened up and allowed the transmission and engine to separate. If anyone has any other thoughts on why this happend id appreciate it. My question is does anyone know how the new bushing should be installed. I assume the notch goes towards the bottom but not sure. And the old one looks like its was staked in a couple of places. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like it goes facing up. The more circular one.

Awesome thanks man. Did you happen to notice if it was staked in? If you look at my first photo you can see where it looks like it was hit with a punch or something. One by my finger and one by my thumb. It was supposedly built by Darren Thomas Racing. Wonder if that is not factory and just something they do.

Looking at your second photo again i think i can see the staked spot. Which is on the inside. Looks like ill have to take the pump apart to stake it. Dang. Guess i got to order a gasket as well.
